I know there was a topic about high gas prices somewhere but can't find it.
Is anyone having trouble finding gas? We were out yesterday riding the motorcycle and maybe saw 3 stations that had gas and they only had regular. The price isn't outrageous but we just can't find any.
I heard on the news this morning that the Southeast, from Atlanta to Knoxville is having this problem. What's going on here??? I'm kind of getting a little worried. Not that I go much, but I'd like to have a little.
The other day I was out in the garden and saw a covered wagon go by. There were 2 horses pulling it with 2 boys riding them. I wish I had my camera on me! But I thought maybe they'll start giving rides to town soon! |

Gas prices here in Klamath Falls Oregon are slowly lowering. No problems here with finding it. Average gas price is 3.65/3.75 for regular unleaded, at FredMeyer & Safeway

Here in the east, there are pipelines that are NOT running gas at all. It could be another week or two before they are. Prices are up and we're encouraged to only buy what we need. This is one time that I am NOT hoarding. I'd rather stay at home if it means that some other guy can get gas to go to work, collect a paycheck and feed his family. Gas is about 3.79 here right now, slowly coming down from as high as 4.23

I did hear on the news that the refineries that supply the Colonial Pipeline are not all up and running, causing a shortage here in the Southeast. We have six gas stations within 2 miles of my house, and only two had gas this weekend. Today, they are out. Some are now limiting customers to ten gallons when they do get gas in so as not to deplete their supply so quickly. It is supposed to get better by Columbus Day (Oct.13) or before. I hope so. I'm heading up to Frannie's that weekend. :)

We are happily seeing gas prices lower here in Spokane ($3.53 today) and so far have not seen any gas shortages. I just pray it will continue to drop! At least if the economy tanks, prices may also go lower. Sort of a silver lining on a really black cloud?!
Hugs & blessings,
Brenda

Gas supplies have been steady here in southwest Indiana and western KY. The prices have been steadily declining also, which makes me happy since I drive 100 miles one way to the farm every weekend.

Gas is $3.59 here today..and not a problem to get. Hey Heather...that IS cheap gas for now, isn't it? Gosh...I remember when I paid 46 cents a gallon for gas when I was in high school. sigh. guess you can tell I am older than dirt..haha. Seriously though..this is crazy!

Hey Kris! I'm in Atlanta and we can't find gas where we live! I have stayed home and luckily I stay home to homeschool, but I need to go to the grocery store today, and I have fumes in my car! I can't drive around looking for it. My girlfriends mother ran out and was stranded in Buckhead (trendy downtown area) while looking for gas to drive back to the suburbs! My husband sat in a line for over 1 hour to fill up last week, and now this morning he will go looking for gas and call me when he finds some and I'll jump in my car and hopefully make it to the station! It's almost like "Mad Max" isn't it? : ) It's the pipeline that is part of the problem after the hurricane and then it is people topping off and panicking and emptying the stations. My, my, what ever happened to manners! But as my momma used to say - this too shall pass. And so it will.... sigh.

Our gas has dropped to $3.41 this week. They only have regular gas, no super or premium. Last week it was about 3.48, my Dh went to get gas & all it would pump was 11 cents. He had to go to another station which put our bank on alert & they put a hold on our atm card. He had to call to get it all cleared & its all good now, but I see that happening more as our gas supplies depleted. Glad they are cautious, but it can be a hassle sometimes. It is so congested where I live. Can't wait until I can move to the country life!

Maybe all of us Georgia farmgirls should move to a nice big piece of farmland and make our own fuel. ;)

That's a great idea, Karin. Isn't that what MJF does? Or we could convert the engines to use veggie oil. There's plenty of that in the fast food places.
I was out today and saw a few places that had gas. But I think I'll wait til Friday. It should be better by then. Like someone else said earlier, I'll let the working man have mine.
Hubby said he heard the pipeline should be running by Wed. We'll see! |

Kris- Mine heard the same thing, along with QT stations saying they would have gas at their locations tomorrow. I sure hope so. My daughter drives to Kennesaw for work and she has to get gas before she heads up there tomorrow. I cannot wait for this to be over.
