I have a friend that has 17 donkeys. She wants to get rid of a few of them. I was wondering what do Donkeys eat? Is it the same as horses? Can they just graze? can anyone help?
Thanks
Deborah
P.S.
she is giving them away

we have moved to our farm...and love it

Here is a site that looks helpful!
http://www.ehow.com/how_2077753_raise-donkeys.html

And from what I have seen, they are very easy keepers and actually can get over weight easily.

Deborah, Are they standard donkeys or mini? I would love a Jennet and a Jack. Are they able to breed? Has she given them all away already? I live in Tennessee.

They are standard donkeys. They are producing also that is why there are so many of them....I will see her on Wednesday. I will ask her if she has given them all away. I live in Plainville Ga. She lives in Dalton. That is about 45 min from Chattanooga.
Thanks

I love my jack that we have. He loves to graze like horses but he also loves his treats of apples, cookies and carrots.
