I have been spending most of my time being nurse Nancy to Richard for the last few days. His shoulder surgery went off good, but its a long recovery to get that ROTERCUFF in the shoulder to work good enough for him to go back to work., He is in heating plumbing and construction so its not like a desk job.
Took a picture of my little antique doll buggy. I love this little thing. Sure would like to see the little girl who played with it, wonder what she was wearing?

Nancy Jo it is great! I am not sure I would risk putting a plant in it though. With my luck it would leak water and rot the wicker before I could notice.

Thank you Miss Wilma. Chris, I'm real careful with the water thing, the plant is sitting in a big glass dish.One of these days I might change it back to its real purpose, FOR DOLLS.

Love that little wicker buggy! And the Singer behind it too. I have a White of the same vintage that was my grandma's. Bought in 1912.
Hope that your hubby heals fast and strong. Thinking of you both! HE IS LUCKY TO HAVE A NURSE LIKE YOU.

OHHH Nancy the Wicker Buggy is Wonderful! How Did you family ever keep it hidden?
Glad to hear your Hubby's surgery went well! Is he going for any Physical Therapy? It is so wonderful that you are there for him!

It is so wonderful to see a old buggy in such good shape, probably no kids ever got to play with it. I often wonder how some of these things survive, all my childhood toys bit the dust many years ago or were passed down to other kids in the family.

Richard is doing well, sorry to hear that the grandkids bought him a bell, that's so funny.
It's pouring buckets here, I guess we're going to have a nice green September. I keep telling myself to stop watching the Red Sox and get some sewing done, but I really enjoy baseball, so I'll probably just park myself somewhere and watch until the bitter end. I remember watching baseball on tv with my father and my brothers when i was a kid. My father would always wager a small bet on whatever team he thought would lose the World Series so that I could win a quarter. That was fun.
The only other way we ever got any money was to dig through the couch after my father took a nap. The change would fall out of his pockets and my brother and I would always try to be the first one to hunt for coins. Enough blather, sorry, it is the rain and the fistful of pills I take...

Audrey, yes after two weeks he starts therapy.I think they said he would be going twice a week.Karin, you hang in there with the red sox, they love a fan like you. Jeannie, do you use your old sewing machine? The old machines look so much more charming then the new ones.

My machine is definitely useable. The original leather belt is still strong and intact. Mom taught me how to use it once, and how to thread it, but I have forgotten, and she is not here to teach me anymore. :( I have the book but it is so fragile, I hate to get it out and turn the pages. So......I sew by hand.
She made our school clothes with it, and I remember watching her treadle....she had it down. But she really did not love to sew, although she was good at it. She would get frustrated. IT was my grandma who loved to sew, which is how my mom knew how.

I'm glad to hear that his surgery went over well....I know it is no fun trying to recover from it! I have you a package and it is now in the car ready to head to the post office first thing in the morning. :)

How sweet, Nancy Jo! That little buggy is just precious and LOVE that sewing machine! It is beautiful! Is that the one you sew with? We had quite the storm last night and I lost a BIG live tree limb and my flowers got smashed etc. but no flooding and my new roof held fast! My Dad built a very strong house....I never even heard the storm! But I guess we had 50-70 mph winds....that stinker Ike!
How's Richard doing? If he's used to working hard and being active this may be a true test of your marriage before it's all over! We remodeled our house while our children were all teenagers and there went 21 yearsof marriage right down the tubes....be careful! Some combinations are just lethal to a marriage...of course him having a girlfriend didn't help the matter. Hope you are enjoying your Sunday...today is beautiful...NO humidity, 75, breezes and all the windows open...maybe I died last night and went to heaven?
My decorating and cleaning MOJO is really in full swing! Of course, having that FOR SALE sign in the front yard is pretty motivating! But actually I just noticed it is not there....Ike again!
Hope all are safe and sound and having a restful and relaxing Sunday whereever y'all are!
