Dawn - don't kill youself cleaning house. I don't want you to be all worn out!!!!!! I am happy to say that I went with hubby today and bought him a truck for plowing this winter. As awful as it is - please let it snow!!!!! He has been given a rather large contract for Red Gold (the tomato company) this winter. If we are lucky - it will pay for the truck. No - it's not brand new - it's ummmmmmm..... recycled - 1993 Chevy Suburban. It has the smaller tires so it's not toooo bad on gas. When we are not using it for snow plowing - I can use it to pull my horse trailer. although we haven't taken the horses anywhere since last fall. Hmmmmm.....I'll have to find another use for it. Thinking...............

Got my MJ box today. I had ordered some food stuffs. Going to try them tomorrow.
Also got hubby's Christmas present today - a beginners beehive kit. It came with the hive, hive tool thing that looks like a scraper, helmet, net, gloves, smoker and a bunch of frames and a book. He is putting together now.

We are not putting up our tree this year. Too much uncertainty with the house. I do have small wooden cut out tree with lights on it that I bought at auction for $4. I will set it up and put the presents around that. Trying to decide what to put up instead of stockings. I can't get to the storage container they are in. How does using my reusable shopping totes sound? They are green.:> :< Any ideas?

Sorry I won't be able to stick around and chat this evening. - Spending some quality time with Lliam. He said he is feeling left out lately. don't know why - he is with us 24/7 except for 8 hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays when he is at school.

Anyhoooo

See ya'

I can't believe it, it's 9:05 and I am finally here. Hopefully when everyone else is.
I am still plugging along with the book. I know I am further behind than everyone else but I think it is pretty interesting.
Corinne~ thinking of you and hope all is going well.
Lillian~where did you get your seed catalog from. The only one I have received so far came from Abundant Life. Has anyone heard of them?
Has anyone seen Alee? Wondered how she is doing with her school schedule and all.
They carry organic and heirloom seeds. Looks like my list will be long for the order this year.

one of the gals already got hers.
I figure if ya'll want you can start them indoors as a windowsill plant as the seeds were just harvest a few weeks ago so they should be pretty viable.

can't wait to get them. I love using chives to cook, especially with potatoes in the oven.
How are you coming along with your house and getting it ready?

I didn't know you could find them on etsy and ebay. I haven't gotten a Seed Savers catalog yet. I need to go to their website and order one. I'd rather browse a regular one instead of online. I can take my time that way.

Hi Ladies!

I just got Nora put to bed and I have about 40 minutes before Doug comes home :D

How is everyone tonight?

I moved the bulk of my compost to fill in a huge depression around the foundation of this house. We probably won't be here next spring, so the fall garden prep that I was planning is put on hold.

The house is 90% clean right now. I am so happy. I haven't felt this comfortable in the house in a long time!

we'l be taking a trip probably first part of Jan. we were going to go in Dec. but best to wait until after Holidays to go house hunting.
but we'll probably go early in Jan. after Jan.1. to go looking.
we thought we had found a place..we still haven't ruled it out 100 percent..but it is 25 miles from Ocala and 6 miles out of Dunellon on an acre half of which is wooded.
but an absolutely gorgeous house.
so we haven't ruled it 100 percent out yet..we were wanting something a bit closer in though..but we shall see.

Tina,
I am familiar with Ocala. Used to live there in the 70's for a short time. Dunellon is where my dh's aunt lives. they have a nice place there.
