Lillian,
We were stationed at Pearl Harbor from 82-85. Dd #2 was born Aat Tripler in 83. Funny isn't it? We then were transferred to Nofolk from 85-90. always sea duty never shore duty the whole time we were in. It was supposed to be 3 and 2 but the shore duty didn't come until we finally left the military. Have had shore duty ever since....lol.

I just came across a seed catalog that I got in the Spring. Its called Abundant Life Seeds. Says they are certified organic and biodynamic seeds and supplies. I have never ordered from
them, don't know how I got the catalog really. Anyway, if anyone wants to check it out their web address is www.abundantlifeseeds.com

hey, so you all discovered the "maven's" shout out on the BBB link.... How fun is that? I am busy working on plans for the event and I cannot wait for you all to get here, we are going to have a blast, and we will be able to share more and more details as time goes on, but I can say this, YOU WONT WANT TO MISS IT!

Good morning/evening Mavens,
Rene, I see you can't sleep or haven't been to bed yet, :^) It was so nice to meet you in Rosalia, you are doing an awesome job, BTW, I was going to tell you that and I forgot. Granddaughter, Faith, won her soccer match, she scored 7 goals, ended her season with her first trophy, that she was quite proud of. We are talking about a mover and a shaker in the 5 year old soccer set, LOL!
Girls, sorry to miss last night. I had to be at a snoozer budget meeting at city council. Yawn, I'm still half comatose from that.
I'm glad to hear everyone is feeling better!!!Yea!
I haven't a clue what to wear for BBB as far as the 20's theme goes, we need to find an apron pattern from that era. Hey, the Mavens could all have the same aprons, what do you think?
Y'all are welcome to use a tent at the BBB, but I will warn you, you can't count out rain in this part of the country until AFTER the 4th of July.
I have 2 double beds, and 2 single beds, 1 crib(if Alee comes with Nora),I know I can borrow an air mattress, queen, I think. We'll figure it out, ;^)
DH has 10 days off, so I don't know how much I'll be on the computer because we are trying to get the cemetery done, put plastic on the windows(I told you I had an OLD farmhouse), spend Halloween with the grandbeasties, I have a good friend that has come to visit for the weekend, etc, etc.
I will try to pop in when I can, I'm missing y'all though!!!
Keep at your AVM, journaling, etc.
Gotta go to work at the cafe, bleck.

Morning Sam.....
Moring Mavens! I agree that we need more designated times to chat. Better yet, we need our own chat room. I felt like I was here and then split out real quick. I was on from 8EST to 10 EST....but fading fast....
We have SNOW in Ohio! Yay. As you can all tell I am not that enthused about it.
Denise: BBB is MaryJanes Farm Fair otherwise known as Buggie, Barter & Boogie. Its a weekend event of farmgirls. Karen and I are planning on flying out. If you can, you are more than welcome to fly with us, or meet us out there. Right now, fuel prices are pretty low so I am gonna look around at ticket prices.
Yuck. it looks like Christmas here. Big flakes. My chickens wont know what to think!
TS: I totally fell off the wagon journalling, I've got all these pieces of paper all over my desk with things that I've eaten, but no dates.... I will try to make sense of it all today.
Okay girls. I am signing out of the Vortex now. I have sewing projects, and cleaning stuff to do.
Talk with ya'll later.

Morning Girls! Dawn you will probably throw something at me for this, but we are having an unheard of fall here! Yesterday it was BEAUTIFUL and 70 degrees, I worked outside on Sunday with a shortsleeve shirt and got hot!! Alas the rain is supposed to come by Friday and won't stop until July.

For you girls that were wondering about seed catalogs the new ones usally start coming around January. Right now the seed companys are taking inventory of what they were able to produce this last year and cataloging it for us.

Off and running for now-everyone have a great day.

Lillian

G'morning, Ralph!
G'morning, my maven friends!

To those I was able to chat with last night, thanks for a good time. For those I wasn't able to chat with, looking forward to a good time with you in the future.

I'll be doing some newsletter work for the next half hour so if anyone is out there available to chat now, I'm ready and willing.

To the rest, hope you're having a great day!

God bless -

Good Morning Mavens ~ I hope that everyone is doing fine.
Lillian we are having nice weather here too.
Corinne, so sorry I missed chatting with you. I'll be on longer as the autumn progresses and I have less to do in the evenings. I needed to go take some hay to llamas last night. I love llamas, they are so funny looking =)
Karen, thank you for the email yesterday. I'm just having a peculiar life right now and it was really welcome

Hi, Annika! You're welcome and I'll be keeping you close at heart - and smiling 'cause I love that phrase: "a peculiar life." That describes how mine's been for the last month! And since we're leaving again in less than two weeks to visit the in-laws, that won't change for awhile. Just in time for the holiday madness!

The llamas, are they yours? Or are they ones you help out with?

God bless -

Sorry, had to see my sweetie off with a smooch
It is 7:55 and the llamas actually belong to my landlords, but I love them all the same.
I hope that our "peculiar lives" become less peculiar soon...

Yes I have Annika, thanks for asking. I have been able to do a few things in my sewing room, but for me this time.
How is your life, can you cope with the turnmoil ? I so do hope you are taking care of your own little self.

Corinne! So glad to have a minute or two to chat with you before you head to bed. How's life after the bazaar? You probably posted about it already but since I just got done copying pages of posts for the newsletter, everything is a blur!

I understand about loving other people's animals, Annika. Our neighbors dogs were as dear to me if they'd been our own. Now they keep them penned and chained which is good so they don't get run over on the road (that happened to one of theirs and another was kidnapped) but I do miss them. We don't let our dog run either. For that reason and I can't complain when other dogs mess with our garden, etc. if we'd let ours run loose!

The reason I'm asking about the time is (1) there was some confusion last night about chat time and (2) where does Mountain Time fit in? If it's 9pm on the east coast, what time is it on the west coast?

God bless -

Good to hear that you feel better today. Because we put up our Christmas tree for the bazaar, as a display for ornaments, I am thinking of decorating it very soon.
Are you planning for Thanksgiving Annika ? Will the dinner be at your place or are you travelling ?
