We now have a paypal account set up for the mavens. To send money just go to www.paypal.com There is a link (you don't have to have an account!) that says "send Money"
The email you want to send any funds to is "mavens@awarmheart.com"

Corinne, you can most definitely join! You're in the sisterhood already so just jump on the train and ride it for all it's worth. It's a wild ride at times but wonderful. So glad you're here and can't wait to get to know you better.

Alee, I am doing the bracelets. I am working on Tesresa Sue's now. Corrine! I just got your email this morning! So glad you found us! I am going to be ghosting in & out as well. I blacked out yesterday evening and toppled BACKWARDS down the stairs! Just waitin on the bruises.... ahhh. such is my life! I am OK! I've got more than enough cushion ..hehe....seriously. I am ok. First "spell" in a LONG TIME! thats good!

First we had a round of girls with colds & flu. Now we have a group with aches and pains. First Rene falls at the farmers market, now you (Dawn) fall down the stairs. And last night I don't know how I did it but I got a knot in my shoulder that is creating a shooting pain when I breathe. Had a rough night's sleep and my sweetie stayed home today to take care of me. So I'll be ghosting a lot today too. Typing ain't much fun right now.

Thanks ladies for the warm welcome. I am already a Mud Hen and have liked gardening all my life.
We are in Kuwait because DH works in the oil field. That means changing country when we change contract. We have been in Kuwait for more than 2 years now and this forum has been one of my lifeline.
I do lots of volunteer work and quilt as much. Because of the extreme temperatures (it was 132 F) in july, the only garden I can have is an herb garden.
I belong to Kokopelli, a French association which help preserving open pollinated seeds and have had my own garden several years in a row in Canada before we took the expat route.
Not sure if I can send you seeds, because of the law, but will for sure be able to buy some and have them send to ya'll.
Cannot wait to get to know the Mavens better.

Dawn and Karen~ hurry and "heal".
Dawn last year I feel down the stairs at my house at 6:00 a.m. headed to the market. My hubby was already out in the field and my teen age son was a sleep down stairs and my little guy gone at friends. I was in so much pain... you would have thought the "thud" would have awaken the little cherub... NO... then the screaming, no... And I managed to get myself to the emergency room, back home in a cast, in the sofa... when Cole, my teen decided to bless me. Looks at me and says, "Hey MA, what was that thud this morning? Did you hear it? Being the smarty pants that I am, said, "oh, the one followed by cries of despair and pain"....LOL... Anyway, all to say "hurry and heal".
I am feeling pretty much back to my old self. Busy on working on the BBB plans, researching rooms and rates etc and hope to get that info posted ASAP so we can all make our plans so that is taking much of my time, but I check in and read as much as I can.... you all are amazing.

Annika I hope you're feeling better. Hope the Dr. visits are all great news for you. Looking forward to hearing from you. You tell your dearie that he doesn't have to worry that you are coming off as "over enthused", I think you fit right in girl. I believe most of us have expressed some concern as what government/big business is doing to our food supply. I don't think there is really a conspirasy question here. I think we all feel it's pretty much a given. Anyone can correct me on that if I've overspoken, but I'm with ya girl.

Alee, it seems that my doc think I have MS...but i think its a bunch of hooey....I'm just dizzy! I did go and see a naturapath Friday and it was pretty cool. I am going to change my vitamin regime and do some more green foods. Lay off of the sugar (I have a MAJOR sweet tooth to the point I HIDE candy...not good I know...) and try to stop binging. Yes. I binge. No purge. Just binge. I do not keep sweets in the house because I will eat it all. If I make a chocolate cake, I will wake up in the middle of the night and eat it. Cookies,cupcakes... everything. thats why I keep candy upstairs in my sewing room and its all individual kiddie size. I eat one and usually I'm too involved in a project to want more. Anyhow, I get these "creep crawlie" sensations in my shoulders, neck and skull... when I feel that sensation, I usually lose my sight for a few seconds and then it comes back, sometimes I lose sight and get dizzy. Almost everytime it is accompanied by a headache/migraine. I am numb in the fingers and I have loss of balance and I'm scatterbrained. (Bring on the jokes, I can take it!!) For instance, I threw water away in the garbage can and put the empty glass in the fridge. Or, I forget what I'm doing to the point I will let something burn or leave the oven on or the freezer open. If I come to Idaho, I'm gonna need a piece of paper safty pinned to my shirt saying I belong at BBB! Ya'll have to lead me around on a leash! I laugh because I dont know what else to do. It doesn't solve anything to cry about it.... so I just carry on in my own quirky way!

Glad to have you #101. Dawn and Karen - get better soon. Hubby would rather hunt that work on tractor. We have some birdhouse gourd seeds that came from the local gourd grower's association several years ago. I really don't know if they are heirloom or not, but we are on the 3rd generation of saving the seeds ourselves. We will try to find them and offer them when we do.

Really girls, I'm concerned about you two. Dawn don't just phoo-phoo the Dr. I not saying just take his word for it either, but do some research girl, at least look at what he's saying, reserch it and make some decisions on what you find. Please let us know how you're doing.

I just talked to Karen's hubby and she is not doing well. In a lot of pain. Frankly, he is quite worried for her. Lets keep her in our thoughts & prayers. I hope its JUST a pinched nerve....

Dawn..I would go and get a 2nd opinion gal. My granny used to have black out spells and they found that she had an anuerysm(sp?) in her brain...this was right before I was born. They had to operate..and when they did they shaved her head..and all..she did have to relearn how to talk...but she lived to be 83.She had the aneurysm thing when she was in her mid 40's. So..I'd definitely suggest a 2nd opinion. She would just up and pass out while doing things like taking out the garbage or stuff..she'd get a headache and dizzy then just pass out.
Anyhow...thought I'd mention that to you in case it is of any help in your situation.

oh hey..I do the little lines in my typing to keep myself straight when I type..ha. so yeah..if it helps anyone else..go for it. It helps me to keep my trains of thought/different topics separated sometimes. So it's not all a run on conversation..ha.

O.k. I wanted to mention this..if any of you have been growing stevia..the sweet leaf sugar substitute plant..and want to collect seeds...get about 2 plants and let them go to flower. When they have the flower heads start to dry out and create a little puff type thing(looks almost like a dandelion type thing/feathery calyx) where the flower was..this is the seed.Very easy to collect.
I was amazed at how easy...and what the seeds looked like.The seeds likely to be fertile will be the dark colored seeds.

I know, nobody wants to do "sick". Just worried about you is all. I'm the first one to try to get someone to the doc if they are sick and the last one to go if it's me, go figure.

Hey Mavens,
I had an email from Sunny. She too has been out "sick". However, she is back and trying to play catch up. She wanted you all to know she hasn't forgotten us and she will get the Henhouse up as quickly as she can. I assured her that we are all fine and all have her best interrest at heart. So we wait a little longer, not like it is slowing any of us down any, right?

Great! Another one is sick! I have not heard anything about Karen.... I did call and talk to Robbie earlier, but I didnt want to be too nosey, and I asked if I could call tomorrow. I will let you all know how she is if she doesnt let you know herself!

TM: I had the cat scan and an MRI. No mass, no anuerism. All thats left to do is the spinal tap which will leave me very sick for 2-3 afterwards. Haven't scheduled it yet due to finances.
