I have an ancient italian plum tree in our backyard. It is quite loaded this year so I overflowing with plums!! I have a dehydrator full at the moment. A huge bowl in the sink.

plum chutney? syrup? I made a delighful syrup from plums, flavored with a bit of rosmary or sage. DIVINE! Use it to sweeten tea, pour over pancakes, or make sorbets.....or add to a bit of carbonated water for a natural "soda". |

Angie, I just fly by the seat of my pants when i cook. To make my syrup, I used the wild plums we had growing, just cut them in half, threw them in a pot with water, and boiled them to get the juice. Strained juice, then added a BIG sprig of rosemary to the pot, and got it all hot and let the rosemary steep while the juice cooked down a bit. Remove rosemary; sweetened syrup to taste, and canned it. |

We love Plum Crisp. It can be made with fresh or frozen one. Using your apple crisp recipe topping. Oh, so good!
