important to your life? but further down the list than FAMILY and FRIENDS .. something that will SURPRIZE us ... and why is this important to you? (i know we've done this one before .. but we have lots of new friends here .. and i think at this time on the forum .. this is an especially uplifting subject to think about.
there are soooooooo MANY things that are EXTREMELY important to me .. and the list is LONG ... and my mind keeps wandering to things that include my family and friends .. soooo ..i'm gonna' keep travelling down the list to come up with something that might indeed surprize you all .. but while i'm thinkin' ... how's about YOU?

I have done genealogy research for many years. And for several reasons that is important to me. I have that desire to know where "I" came from and the desire to leave info for the generations to come. *Some of my wishes (that, I think, will someday make a difference for someone traveling down the road that I have traveled) I want my maiden name included on my tombstone along with detailed family info. I also, want a very detailed obit card (you know the kind they pass out at the funeral home) one that will include: all the normal info ... name, dob, that kind of info, along with where I was born, my parents, my siblings, my grandparents, include a picture( and I sure dont enjoy pictures of myself) just personal bio information. Oh what I wouldnt give to have some of that kind info left behind by long lost relatives. Just some little tidbit of info that might fill in that missing link. Kind of silly I guess but it is important to me.

That my family that Scott and I have created will always love each other, no matter what.
That I get up each day and live it like my last, always looking for laughter, fun and something new.
That I won't look back and regret..for the most part. : )

Something that is very important to me is the animal lives around me. I have a dog named Sky who is a constant friend and companion. She's my heating pad on cold winter nights and my body pillow. She is my protector and driving buddy.
I am also dreaming and working hard on having a horse farm one day. I would say my list would be Family, Friends, my animal friends, gardening/environment.

i'm thankful for a country that has programs for underprivileged and poor people .. now i know it is not PERFECT .. but i've known people who have benefited from many programs our country does offer. and again .. here comes that FREEDOM that we have to all work towards an even better country with even better programs. (NOPE .. this is not a 'political' thing .. we are ALL in this TOGETHER!)

the only other thing that is extremely important to me.... that has nothing to do with my family or friends is my faith. My relationship with God. Without Him I am nothing. He was there before family and friends.. And no matter what He will always be there. It is important to me to share the message of God's love by showing kindness to strangers. Like that old song says "they will know we are Christians by our love."
Blessings, Debra

Not silly at all Joy! I love researching my family history too. I'm taking a break from mine right now with Christmas a few months away. I get so consumed with it that I lose track of everything else. But I think for me and genealogy it's more about the "hunt". Finding those elusive little details about an ancestor's life. Wow what a great accomplishment!
But I guess there's something even more important to me than that. Below family and friends and all that kinda stuff you usually hear, I guess it would be proving myself and others wrong but in a positive way. Let me explain...
I used to think I wouldn't be able to quit smoking and now it's been a little over 6 months since I had my last smoke. it wasn't easy but I made it. I just kept pushin myself.

Mona is very important to me. She represents SO much of what I have always dreamed of. And she is such a sweet reminder that my Mom finally "gets me" (sort of) since she gave me the gift of the money to buy Mona for a birthday gift 3 years ago. The all time best gift I have ever ever recieved. Plus, she is the perfect cow.

Humor. I love to laugh. Big belly laughs. I get made fun of because my laugh is a good hearted guffaw! You KNOW it when I'm laughing-I let it out! I seriously laugh so hard I urp, cough , spit and sputter. Sometimes I tinkle my panties! Another thing that is REALLY important to me is this silly 2 dollar bill that I carry in my wallet at all times. Its been there so long I cant remember where I got it, but I freak out if I cant find it. Thirdly, my earrings. (of course none of this is important as the important stuff!!)

preserving handmade items. I can't stand seeing them in the thrift stores or garage sales. paintings, crocheted items, embroideries, hand sewn items, knitted goods. Someone put time and effort into making those items. they should be preserved..

Well faith and family are the most for me. But I have had a mission , maybe a calling, real thoughts and dreams on this that I'm suppose to feed a lot of people. Its been going on for some time,a few yrs and the thoughts do not leave me. A friend told me it might be that I'm to feed people through the word of God. No its real food that I'm to do, garden food. So this has been a major thing going and it seems to be going slow sometimes and yet closer to the mission. And the thing is I keep meeting others that have had this same calling, mission, as I have. So feeding others would be high on my list of importants.
Oh another thing i really want to do on a fun thing is dogsled again. I did it a couple of times here on the homestead when we really had some good snow. But this time I would like to go to Canada to the events and take part.
KY Frannie, I sent you an e-m using my sisters Pc ( my e-m doesn't work) about adopting one of your dolls, did you get it?

The internet, it's how I find out news, how I have met you farmgirls, how I get most of my shopping done besides food and hitting thrift stores. I've getten jobs from craigslist, I found my dog from petfinder.com. It's my main form of communication with my mom.

Since a bad back injury last month that suddenly and painfully left me unable to stand or walk for a week, I realize how much I value freedom and independence, even if it just means being able to walk to the bathroom by myself!
