My laptop is getting hot from sitting on my table. I do not have a proper desk and it needs to get air around it to get keep cool. I had some mesh desk organizers, the kind you put in drawers for pens and pads and stuff. I turned them over and put them underneath my computer. Problem solved!!! The mesh won't get hot like putting a book or something under there and it lets the air circulate.
FYI if anyone is having the same problem.

I like this idea! My laptop sits on a '70's era desk that has a typewriter extention which of course back then was always lower than a normal desktop. So it's way too low on the desk and I've raised it up like you did but I've only used a small box. It doesn't get the benifit of the air circulation like you came up with. Way to use your Farm Girl ingenuity!
Really important! Glad you brought it up. I have had to be a Nazi about my laptop because the kids ruined my last one because they would leave it on the couch and then it overheated and ruined it. I have a flat fan thing that hooks into a usb port to run the two fans. it goes under the laptop and is roughlly the same size and only 1/2 and inch thick or so.
Best Buy has a laptop cooler. The laptop sits on it and it plugs into the laptop and cools the laptop. I got it for my husband for his birthday and it was only $19 and he though that was the best gift he got...He uses it everyday. a Deborah
