I was without a book to read so I went through one of my book sheves, browsing for one I hadn't read in awhile...and came upon Honk and Holler Opening Soon, by Billie Letts. I last read it about 9 years ago...my 12 year old son was only 3 at the time and I well remember that I was working at my cousin's deli and loving it and took the book along. My other cousin thought it was a funny name..but read it when I was done. It is a good one...written by the same gal who wrote "Where the Heart Is". I am halfway through already. It is a very good re-read. I am for sure ordering a book tonight used on Amazon.com though. I hate being without a book!!

I'm going to look for that at the library, sounds like a good one. i know just how you feel, when there is no book right there to dive into I feel slightly antsy. I often reread books too, I realize, looking at my bookshelves, that I need to go to the used bookstore again and trade in some things and get some new ones. I think the sun is coming up so I am going to retire and try to get some sleep. First, I'm going to read....

I read that book on my honeymoon! We were staying at a little inn in Bigfork, Montana and there were a few books on the shelf in our room, so I started it one day while DH was in the shower. I am a pretty fast reader, so I did manage to get it finished before we left. I just love the names that she makes up for people in her books. I read another one by that same author not too long ago, but I can't think of the name. I got it off paperback swap and it has already been shipped off again. Good choice, Aunt Jenny! |

I have read that book and loved it. Read Where the Heart is too. She has a new book out called Made in the USA. Sounds ok, by the Literary Guild's little write up. Billie Letts does come up with some good names! The one in this book are Lutie, Fate and Floy!
