Dear Ladies:

I live in NYC and can't find Mary Jane's Farm magazine. All the Barnes
and Nobles don't carry it and it's not at any other shops. Does anyone know where in NYC I could get a copy?

Giovonnia,
You can order a copy directly from Mary Janes Farm. I don't think the newest one is out yet so the stores will probably not have any left.

Hi Giovonnia (What a beautiful name!),

If you don't find our magazine (or book) in your local bookstore, you can always order it online through this website! Just go to our home page www.maryjanesfarm.org, then click on "Our Products." Scroll down, and on the left you'll see a link to "Order Our Magazine." For the book, there's a link right on the home page to "Order MaryJane's New Book."

We've also got lots of things for sale that would make great holiday gifts. But we've just figured out that we have them kind of buried on our website, so this week (since we've finally had time to breathe after finishing our next book), we're rethinking our navigation in the products area. For now, you can find things like Dansko shoes, beautiful pillows and the cutest Christmas stockings ever made by Miss Wilma and her rural Kentucky farmgirl friends, primitive rag dolls, MaryJanesFarm purses, our line of wire baskets and accessories, and more by clicking on the "Our Products" area, then choosing "Essential Accessories" in the left-hand navigation area.

And today, we're going to add products left over from our booth in Central Park for the Country Home "Get Creative New York" event. We had the cutest aprons, hand-made here on the farm, as well as apron kits and embroidery kits. They make the perfect gifts for your farmgirl friends!! We're even taking a photo of all the farmgirls here at the farm modeling the aprons, so look for us there later today!

Gotta run and put on my lipstick now ... it's almost photo time!
Farmgirl love,
Carol

And also - if I remember correctly, an order of $50.00 or more of MJF products, gets you the most recent magazine issue included in your order!

Hi everyone! My gosh it's been such a long time since I posted anything I almost forgot my password. I have come to the site several times in the past few months but I get so overwhelmed at how far behind I am in the posts that I just give up and leave. Any suggestions? I suppose similar to the way you eat an elephant. One bite at a time.

My main question though is WHEN IS THE NEXT MJ MAGAZINE DUE OUT??? I'm having severe MJ withdrawals. I'm jonesing for more farm life.

Hee hee! Take care everyone and Happy Holidays.

Hi Jamie.

Welcome back! There's a handy feature called "Active Topics" that you'll find up in the upper right corner when you're logged in. That shows you everything that's been posted since you last visited. OR, you can change it to show you everything from the last day, last week, etc. That would be a good way for you to ease back in -- just read the newer stuff, then go back if you want.

As for the magazine, we're planning on having one out in February. We've planned producing one all year, but have been sidetracked by producing our books. We know you're all waiting for one, and we'll try to make it worth your wait when it finally appears!

Farmgirl wishes for a happy holiday season!
Carol

Good to know when the next magazine will be out. I've been haunting my local pharmacy checking to see if they had a new issue. Now I won't need to go there as often.

Alrighty, February is here. Is there a new MaryJane's magazine in the birth canal? I sure hope it's soon. Waiting it's arrival about as eagerly as we are all awaiting Mona's new calf.

Hi Rebekah!
The latest on the magazine now is that it will be on sale May 2. Some of the big chains that carry our magazine (like WalMart) have new policies in place that say if you're going to increase the price of a magazine, you have to give them 90 days notice. The reason for that? A special issue that includes a cookbook and nearly 40 more pages. BUT, we think you'll be pleased. Instead of the Artists in Aprons issue that we had planned (that's still coming, but will now be the next issue), we are going to give you a cookbook along with most of the regular sections of the magazine. For this issue, instead of a catalog of our products, we're publishing recipes using MaryJane's Budget Mix (a kind of organic all-purpose baking mix) that will include breakfast items, appetizers, panbreads, BakeOvers, FoldOvers and desserts. We'll give you the option of making your own Budget Mix or buying ours. We've been testing the recipes here at the farm (Whimsy_girl has also been graciously helping), and we think you'll love them! Because it will be a cookbook as well as a magazine, we increased the price of this issue to $7.99.

We're so sorry you have to wait a little longer, but we've been also been working on our Stitching Room workbook. We've increased the size of it by almost 100 pages, so it probably won't be available until fall. Since we do all the sewing, cooking, writing, editing, photography, and design of our books and magazines here at the farm, it takes the time it takes. It will be worth the wait ... I promise!

Thank you all for your support!
Carol

A re-issue of #1. Good idea, country lawyer, and just what you all need at the farm, right? Another project! MJF, do you still have all the proofs and necessary things to run another issue of #1? I have that issue, but I see an awful lot of people who are eager to have one too.

Dear Jpbluesky, Aunt Jenny, Junebug and Country lawyer ~ ~ I know waiting for the next magazine is a little bit like waiting for Christmas as a kid! All of us here at the farm are anxious to have the next magazine published, too! Dealing with the publishing world is always a learning experience. Things just don't happen as quickly as we'd like most days!
The remaining Premiere issues traveled to almost 500 women nationwide. Now our efforts are going to the traveling mascot dolls and traveling aprons, and other Farmgirl Connection and Farmgirl Chapter projects.
If you come to Farm Fair July 1st and 2nd, we'll have those remaining copies of the Premiere issue to look at, as well as the beautiful journals that traveled along with them. Stay for the Farmgirl Campout that Saturday evening and meet your farmgirl at heart friends. It would be lovely to meet you all!!
Sunnily yours,

Oh Jenny, after all our talks, it will be so wonderful to meet you in person! If everyone wears their favorite apron we can make the wheat field look like a colorful quilt!! It's a short flight or a couple days of driving I imagine. Since I drove to Maine to bring Molly and Corey back, everything else seems like a short drive! Can't wait to see you!

I should have known that nothing is that simple. It sounds easy...just tell them to run some more of that first issue. I'm quite sure I recently read that a magazine called La Vie Claire did just that...re-issued the first copy...I could be wrong. I'll be glad to do some legwork if there is any interest at all on your end. Anyway, the Farmgirl Campout sounds like a ball. Tell us more! Will we actually be spending the night on the farm in tents? When do we have to let you know if we can come? Sounds like fun. (I'll have Aunt Jenny's apron to wear!) It would be so renewing to spend some time with some Farmgirls.

Country lawyer ~ here's the information ~ I sure hope you'll be able to join us!
FarmFair and Farmgirl Campout 2006

MaryJanesFarm annual 2006 Farm Fair celebration July 1st from and July 2nd from 11-4 is a wonderful opportunity to spend a day or two with us. During our Farm Fair, we offer a self-guided tour with u-pick strawberries and veggies along the way. Musicians fill the air with country tunes as you browse the booths of local vendors for farm-style antiques, locally-grown organic veggies and rural made products. Be with friends and neighbors for an old-fashioned Fourth of July Celebration.

Pssssssst…….
For “farmgirls at heart” only.
Saturday evening, July 1st, will be the perfect time for a farmgirl campout!! Bring your camping gear and cooler packed with your dinner for Saturday and breakfast for Sunday . After dinner, we’ll meet at 6:30 at the big tent. We’ll have a bonfire and sleep under the stars. If it rains, we’ll gather under the 4000 square foot tent canopy. You are welcome to bring your own camper or tent. MaryJane and I have dreamed of having a farmgirl gathering for years. Like an old-fashioned slumber party, we can tell stories, share ideas and get to know each other. Farmgirls connect in the most fabulous ways. This is a chance for you farmgirls to take a break from your busy lives, partners, pets and children. I hope you can join us!

I would appreciate an RSVP, but if things work out at the last minute, please do come on over!

Sunnily yours,

Cindylou ~ I remember someone mentioning our coming early and going antiquing or garage sailing or just hanging out. I think that's a great idea. Did anything ever come of that?

Thanks,

Wow! A farmgirl campout...I am going to start planning right away. Hmmmm....it just occured to me that I will be 8 months pregnant by that time - yikes! Looks like I'll be packing that EXTRA-thick therma-rest :) I'm so excited for the next magazine - sometimes a couple of months feels like a couple of years, doesn't it? I can't wait for the recipes - just in time for summer/autumn garden harvest ingredients, too!

The best place to see the newest postings..and this is what I do when I check in..is to click on the Active Topics up at the top right of the page..that takes you to any postings that have come in since you were last on the forum...or you can set it to be longer back if you want to make sure you didn't miss anything.
I hope this helps..and welcome Mary!!!
