What kind are they? Mine are Rhode Island Reds. Got them last april. It was so cold out in the shop that I brought them in to the utility room. They were there for 48 hours and were making such a mess that out they went. I spent the next 48 cleaning up after them. We kept them in the shop for about a month before we put them out in the pen. Got our first egg yesterday!! |

There's nothing cuter than opening a box and seeing fuzzy, downy heads peeping as loud as they can
When we got our shipment this year, I took the digital camera and placed it at the chick's level in their brooder box. Got some funny and very cute chick pictures. Was kind of tough though under a red lamp. Figured best to leave it on rather than blind the little ones w/ a flash. |

We had some leftovers yesterday from MOndays hatch at work and it took everything in me to not bring 'em all home! I have just about one of everything except for ornamental chickens but those are the ones that are so fun to watch! Hoping to add a couple of cherry eggers (Catalana's) next year to my flock. I also want to add Polish, Appenzellers, and a Barnevelder! My hubby is going to flip his lid!
