Thought I'd post this as a new topic and see if we can get some interest.
Linda (yarnmamma) suggested getting another swap going. I'll be hosting this so I posted the information below.

Here are SWAP rules, dates etc.

1. We will limit this to 15 people and sign ups will be until September 6 th.

2. We will each make a set 50 yo yos.

3. Have them sent to me postmarked no later than September 27th. (email me for address)

4. When finished you will mail to me: your yo yos, a self addressed pre-postaged envelope for mailing them back to you. If you DO NOT send postage you will NOT receive the yo yos back. If you are late I will send back your own package.

***Please be considerate when signing up. If you cannot make the deadline please reconsider doing the swap as it causes a long wait for others when things are not done in a timely manner.***

I know some of these sound rigid, but rudeness is not my intent. In order to have a good swap we need to honor our commitments and make them a priority.

This is the list so far:

1. Levisgrammy
2. yarnmamma
3. ContraryWife
4. shepherdess
5. Firemama

Where are all the yo yo swappers? Or are the swap rules causing a problem for some?

I love making yoyos and have been doing them off and on for years to eventually make a quilt. I was about to join this swap until the size of a CD is a little bigger that I need or would use. This sound like a lot of fun to be a part of and your rules are easy to follow. I hope others will join and get the swap going. Good luck.

thanks, Kim. It's just that when we have done other swaps we have always tried to keep all the yo yos the same size so I followed along that line.

Hi Denise, I would have no problem with swapping any size if you want to send me whatever sizes someone else has. Maybe this will help?

Teresa Sue,
You can do whatever sizes of yo yos you want but we are still doing a set of 50 each.

I have never have made a yo yo. How much bigger is it cut over the CD or is it cut CD size and turned. how big is the turn seam? I have the small and large yo yo maker. Is the large the size needed? Was wondering, thats why I have never joined.

Hope you join us Debi, it's fun!
I believe the size of yoyos when finished are 2 inches (made from CD pattern)
The CD is the original circle. The seam is 1/4 inch. Sunshine had the best tutorials on her site. I don't know about the "yoyo makers".

Debi,
The largest yo yo maker is about the same size as the cd. If you want to use that you can. We have decided to let everyone make whatever size they like as long as they make a set of 50.
Hope you'll join in. :)
