oh gurlz! we had such a FUN trip to Illinois on a MAJOR antiquin' trip! Kathy drove her truck and pulled a u-haul behind it!
I think Luna took some photos .. my camera was buried deeply! the U-haul was piled from corner to corner .. front to back .. side to side .. top to bottom! the truck had treasures piled so high .. i think they musta' been in the clouds!
We all got such wonderful things! Most of Kathy's will be up for adoption in her darling 'log cabin' .. Luna will find little spots in and around her farm for hers .. and i have the perfect place for each and every little treasure! "I" was a 'good girl' and did not 'overload' on everything i saw that i loved .. i only bought what i had a true desire and PLACE to put it!
Luna and her LONG LEGS sat up front .. Kathy drove (about 6 hours each way!) .. I got the 'jump seat' in the teeeeeeeeeeeeeensy back of the truck .. i swear .. my 'seat' was about four INCHES square .. i sat sideways .. and on the way back home .. i fell asleep and at some point ... slithered into the crack between the two seats and luna's back seat! when i woke .. i just laughed so hard i couldn't even tell the girls of my predicament and they could not see me because of the dark! i wriggled an inch this way and an inch that way .. and HA! actually found it to be quite comfy!
Sweet Luna kept offering to trade seats with me from time to time .. but i'm here to tell ya' .. there ain't NO WAY that chile' could have gotten her long legs 'pretzeled' up enuff to fit back there!
We told stories and jokes and laughed all the way there and back home again!
Found a few shoppes in a couple towns that we loved .. and when Luna got to Darlene's place (she has some of the best early primitives in the country!) i do believe she thought she'd died and gone to antique heaven!
we had a deelish mexican dinner with darlene, her sweet honey steve and daughter jen .. then up early the next day for shoppin' and laughin' and a yummy lunch at a local restaurant .. then PACKING all those treasures! (o.k.! o.k.! i seem to somewhat disappear when the packing time comes along! I swear .. Kathy can squish stuff into a place like a puzzle all fitting together! HA! they even almost picked me up with one of the chairs i bought and threw me into the back of the van and closed the door on me!
we even managed to find a couple shoppes open on our way home too!
oh i loved the last stop .. we met a new friend at her adorable folk art shoppe and the new MERCANTILE GATHERINGS magazine had just arrived .. sooo .. kathy and i got to take a quick peek at it and our articles! (our copies were waiting at home for us when we arrived!)
i'll be sure to post some info about it soon!
we talked about our Kentucky Gurlfrenz Gathering and added another class! Luna will teach us to make 'felted' pin cushion balls! She will also demonstrate 'drop spindle spinning' and everyone will have a chance to try it too!

have to head for town today to visit with the gurlfrenz and put some more treasures in my shoppe .. then .. come home and wrap dollies for mailing .. talk at ya' soon gurlfrenz!

oh chile! you shoulda' seen that truck bed and u-haul .. both loaded to overflowing! (I) was a pretty good gurl about not buying too much .. you know me and my new 'simplify' thing! can hardly wait to hug you in october! xo
