Which is otherwise known as the family room.. but really is my craft room.. don't worry the family has the livingroom.
Since we are unpacking today I tackled the craft room. I can't believe this but I have gone from 3 bookshelves of yarn and about 10 totes of spinning fiber to 1 bookshelf of yarn and 2 totes and 1 bag of spinning fiber. but I went from no fabric (a year ago) to 3 bookshelves full, seperated into different categories.. 1 have 1 bookshelf of quilting fabric, 1 bookshelf that has 1/2 of a shelf of yardage for skirts, jumpers or aprongs and the rest for tote bags and aprons... then another bookshelf full of fabric- totebags, aprons, 1 cubby for girly fabric, 1 cubby for boy fabric, 1 cubby for gender nuetral baby fabric, and a cubby full of clothing that I will cut to use for fabric.. this bookshelf isn't overflowing and neither is the quilting one- though the quilting on is quite full. Not to mention I have 1 huge basket full of scraps, 1 huge basket full of upholstery fabric samples, and several ziplock bags I haven't unpacked yet full of scraps- I mean like 10 2 gallon bags.. I am in fabric heaven right now- and this winter when I am not weaving I will be sewing- I have something in mind for I would say over 50% of the fabric to be worked on this fall/winter. I can't wait..
I am exhausted. and it still looks like a disaster zone and I have lots to be listed on freecycle. I will be so thankful when it is all done..
but at least it is all starting to come together.

Blessings, Debra

You're an inspiration. I want to do my "space" next week. I hope. Maybe.

Angie, I hope to have my space completely done by the end of the week. We need to get back to school by the first so I am working feverishly to get it all done.
Susan, I have been re-evaluating where my creativity lies.. what I need to keep in my stash and what I need to let go of.
I am so very tired.. but I am resting now- gotta be ready to work hard again tomorrow..

That's what I need, a crat room! Maybe then I can try or attempt to make a quilt! Did you put a picture of your craft room on the site? I'd love to see how you arranged things around the room.

Debra,
I'm working on my craft area too. Not getting rid of much but just getting things cleaned up in there. Have fun!

Marly,my camera died.. so when I get a new one I will have plenty of pictures to share. We got a lot done yesterday but we are tackling the end of the hall so there are tons of boxes everywhere again!

Oh, I can't wait to see the pictures. I know all too well about unpacking boxes. Take your time. Do you make quilts? I'd love to see some if you do.

oh debra it sounds like you are in heaven! back when i had the room to organize i had 2 shelf units each made from a full sheet of plywood for the back and half sheets for each of the 4 shelves stuffed full of fabric and patterns. i ended up giving it away when i moved and no longer had the space! i havent touched my sewing machine in years becuase there is just no place to set it up! we dont even have a table! i have gone to knitting, crocheting, weaving on a small rigid heddle table loom (used on my lap lol), and beading. things that dont take up much space right?? NOT! every time i organize i get more stuff and have to reorganize to fit everythig in lol. good luck in your organization and unpacking!
we started school 2 weeks ago even tho we dont ahve all of the curriculems yet. of course we have to take time off for things like moose hunting lol. peace connie in alaska

well I got a lot unpacked today and repacked.. As I unloaded rubbermaid containers I repacked them with stuff that I don't want to get rid of yet but just don't have the space in the house right now. I have 5 big tubs going out and 2 more huge tubs going out to the garage. We get a lot of sand storms here so I will only put items that are packed in rubbermaid tubs in the garage.
Eimi has taken up knitting again so that has been fun, watching her make her little crafting corner in her room. I do have about 20 loads of laundry to fold :-) and since they are all on my bed I suspect I will be folding them tonight :-)
Marly, I am a new quilter. I am love to do mini quilts. The red and white one on my blog is my first- I did it entirely by hand. It was very relaxing.
We just got good news.. Our biggest client that we thought we were going to lose- he wasn't responding to any emails or phone calls. I have been worried sick about it. I wanted to not count on that money but put half of it in savings for our move to MO next year. Jeff just got an email from the bookkeeper. they want to put him on automated payment.. yay!!! we didn't lose the client after all. And yes, we would love to be on automated payment- no more worrying about the money coming in- they are so bad about communicating- each month we would wonder if we still had the client or not.
anyway, praise God we still have the client!
