Hi ladies!
i'm back from our trip out west. we had a blast literally!
and to you WY farmgals there. the land and the people are the best!
We visited all the highlights in WY, MT, and SD. Sadly, we did not have time to see any of the caves or see dinosaur bones. Next time perhaps.
Most striking were the smells!! Any time we stepped out of the car to take pictures, I noticed how clean and herbally everything smelled. I'm now a big fan of lavender and sage!! hubby plucked a few strands of the sage, but I was able to buy some big bundles too. As soon as we got home, i lit one and walked from room to room with the smoking bundle. It smells so god and lingers for a long time.
The funniest highlight was our timing with the Sturgis crowd and bike week. We overlapped by 3 days. So it was really really cool to see all the bikes wherever we went. Was able to get some cool pix of some of the graphics on the bikes. There were 2 at the Crazyhorse monument that really stuck out. One was actually displayed in one of the buildings. It was basically a tribute to the monument and the Indian people. I don't think it will ever be ridden on the open road. the second one was in the parking lot. On the gaschamber there was a graphic of a deer skull/antlers. It was just cool.
I brought back some columbine seed and plan to order some white sage seed in time for a spring planting.
i could go on and on
woke up 2 hours late this a.m. good thing we can recover today and hopefully wake up in time for work tomorrow.
I missed being able to "connect" but thoroughly enjoyed seeing the sheer vastness. we are so blessed no matter where we come from......and its good to be able to freely travel as we do.
speaking of which, the only realy pain in the tush part was not being able to take our own drinks on the plane. it pained me to have to leave bottles of diet pepsi behind. the other being not the cramped seats, but the people out there who have to douse themselves with perfume and subject the rest of us to it who suffer from migraines good thing I had a bandana and was able to sprinkle some peppermint oil in it to inhale
and on a serious note, while out West, we had many encounters with the Indians. We learnedso much from these people. Listening about various battles and talking with the people gave me a better appreciation for what happened. i have nothing to apologize for, I wasn't there, but the idiots of old were in the wrong and i feel badly for these people (Lakota, Soux, Crow) and so many others whose land was taken away. i'd be furious too
wish we had had more time and the space on the plane so i could have brought back more jewlery and blankets |

Hi Anna!
I am so glad you enjoyed being in my Home Territory! I love this land so much. I feel so fortunate to have grown up hear. I think it gave me a better understanding of other cultures and for the heritage our country holds. Too bad we didn't get to meet up! Maybe next time!

Hey Anna - sounds like quite a trip and glad you enjoyed it. Hubby and I take a road trip to WY every year to visit his home, Laramie, His parents live there. We meander all over the place and enjoy taking back roads and alternate routes to see places we may miss on previous trips. Got a few favorite burger joints we hit on the way but mostly we pack a cooler and stop and picnic down old dirt roads and such. Sure enjoy those times. We'll be heading there again in September. Glad you got the feel for the heritage of the region...I think that's enriching when seeing new places...you get a feel for it.

My favorite and most memorible trip ever was to Wyoming! I enjoyed reading your post. Sounds like you had a grand time.
