No, I think it's great they are big, because I can see some of the detail. Not like being there, but closer than little bitty. Having a hard time not feeling intimidated by such talent...but quilts are warm forgiving snuggly things, even if not all of them are art, they are from the heart. :)

The show was great. I bought the pattern for that quilt with the moon and the cat. Sorry I didn't get to meet Amanda, tho.

I love the one with the moon and cat! How great that they sell the patterns there too, I didn't think of that. What fun. I'd love to see it when you finish, or in progress, or whatever. It is a great pattern.

They had that quilt done up two different ways and they were both really neat. I'd lend you the pattern as soon as I'm finished with it if you want.

yep, it was "quilt-eye candy" and I loved them all!
Firemama's Aunt Deb's quilt really is stunning.
I also managed to buy a few goodies from some of the vendors as well.
I was looking at the Penny Rugs made up from wool scraps, there were little packages of assorted wool peices for $8,,,being the thrifty sort of gal that I am, I headed over to one of my favorite 2nd hand stores & bought a mens 100% wool jacket, removed the buttons (for an other project) and cut apart the jacket for the wool and it only cost $4....and I have nearly 1 yard of wool fabric. Wahoooo!

I love to "use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without"!! My daughter call me the Queen of Makedo, lol I love the second hand stores.
By the time I got to the BB on Sun there wasn't much left in some of the vendors booths. I was hoping to pickup a teacup for the the teacup exchange, but they had already sold. Which means I'm going to have to head into one of the big towns soon.

Oh my! I'd love to borrow the pattern when you are done. I don't know if my limited skills are up to the task, but I'd love to give it a try. You are very generous!

It is fun to find new uses for old items. Good find on the jacket Katmom!

Fabulous, I can't wait to get into it myself. I have a pretty big fabric stash, but not a lot of black. Darn, I'll have to buy more fabric, lol. I'll keep in touch and you are the first to borrow the pattern. I'd be happy to help you, it's like anything else, just plunge in and before you know it, you've mastered it.

Thanks for sharing the great pics, Amanda. I too love the cat and the moon quilt. I love harvest, but not the real "spooky" halloween, so this is a great fit. I might have to wander out to the buggy barn for the pattern.

Hugs & blessings,

Brenda

Is the cat and the moon pattern by Blackbird Designs? I think I have that one too. I love that quilt. Haven't made it yet though.

I think it is Blackbird designs, I'll have to look. It is a neat pattern. I think I might add a scarecrow, with an apron of course!

What a fun idea, adding a scarecrow with an apron. Maybe a crown too, like Photobugs' makes?

Photobugs/Pamela makes darling crowns/tiaras. I don't know if she sells them, but when I've been at her booth at various shows, people always try to buy hers. They are paper with glass beads, but that doesn't describe them very well. Absolutely darling. There is a picture of one she made for MaryJane that is on display now at the new store in CdA posted under the new store thread.

Grace I did go to your blog and the pics are, well, luscious, lol, I think I'm a MJ style addict! You know, I got into this MJ thing when it was first starting and I backed off because I thought to myself,"My God, I'm a groupie" and it just didn't set well with my independent ole self. Well, here I am again, I just decided I didn't care if I was a groupie because it's just so darn much fun!
