Hi girls, We had a great time getting to begin to know each other. Meeting Heather was a great gift, she is gracious and warm.
Okay, down to the nitty gritty....lol
I choose Near and Far because I needed to have a name to start it. With having another chapter the Far Away girls, we decided we needed to change our name so it won't get confessing.
Here is our choice, ya ready..... The Kooky Cluckers. Now let us explain. We each have a great sense of humor, it is what has gotten us through lifes many ups and downs. The Kluckers because we love to share with each other, to talk about how life is and has been and ideas and cares. So thus the name, Kooky Kluckers. Are you laughing yet? Life is so much better with a sense of humor.
Our next meeting will be Amanda's place in Spokane. Date November 14th, Wednesday night at 7pm. Carol Sue will be bringing treats.
Novembers meeting, we will be doing a swap. Thanks to the Clark County farmgirls idea. Bring anything from your house that you do not need anymore, bring lots or little and we will be exchanging with each other. Recycling in fun form.
Also we each want to bring a piece of fabric. Why you ask? Because for our apron we would like to do a half apron, yes we have patterns, and we would like each gal to bring a piece of fabric so that we all can have a piece of fabric from each other in our aprons. Being a part of the whole, for those far girls, you can send me your pieces and I will send out the exchange pieces back to each of you. And the pattern of coarse!!!!
Journal pages- a page about you. 8 1/2 by 11, don't worry you don't have fill the whole page. Let us know your likes as well. If possible, we would like to try to start getting them in this next meeting, if that isn't possible just let me know. With holidays coming, we have some leeway girls. After everyone's journal pages come in, we want to make copies of them for each girl so that we get to know each other better.
Also, if you girls would like to send me you emails, addresses and phone numbers want to get a sheet together for each one of us to have that information.
For those who want to bring their kids, October 20th, at 11am for those who want to, we want to meet up at the Royal Garden in Airway Heights to pick pumpkins. If you and your kids are iterested give me a shout out.
We also talked about doing birthday exchanges. We each put our birthday in a hat and draw names. The month that is that person's birthday we bring a gift for that person. Don't worry we will send out reminders....lol
What a joy to be on this journey with other farmgirls. Looking forward to spending more time together. Have a great evening girls. Carol Sue

Hi ladies!
I am supposed to be getting some beeswax this weekend, but if you can find some for a decent price it would be great to have some more. We also need some people to bring some regular canola oil and or olive oil (it's up to you). Please bring any essential oils that you might want to scent it with and any little containers to put it in for gifts or whatever. Or bring a big container (you can always melt it down again later to put into smaller containers).
It will be fun to get to see everyone!

Sounds good. I will make some homemade rolls and bring them. Hmmm...should I add some cinnamon and sugar and make them cinnamon rolls? Then there would be bread....and sugar...LOL

Hello ladies! Carol Sue informed me that I need to come over here and say HI, even though I won't be able to make it to the meeting. I hope that sometime soon I'll get to join you in Spokane, but until then I'll be one of your Far Farmgirls.

Hi Girls,
One question, Wednesday is October 10th, not the 11th. Are we meeting Wednesday? Please let me know. My Hubby has fireman training on Thursday evenings, so I'll need to arrange a babysitter for the Little Pickles if it's that night. :o) I can't wait to meet all of you.

Hello again - I can bring Olive Oil if it doesn't have to be specific. I just went to Trader Joes and bought several large bottles of it. Will it work? I can go get a bottle and read the label if you need me to. Let me know.
Any requests for dessert? I was thinking of making a Honey Chiffon pie....or a banana cream pie. Or whatever....I'm open.

Hey girls, I have a question for you all. I have emailed a few of you and asked, but thought I should come post this. Would a Saturday early afternoon meeting once a month be easier than the 2nd Thursday of the month. Some of you wonderful ladies work and I wondered if this would be easier for us. Let me know your thoughts on this. Carol Sue

Honey chiffon pie has a flakey pie crust with an apricot filling on bottom and a honey custard filling on top of it and then finally topped with an apricot jam glaze. It's good...and definitely beautiful to look at. :o) But who cares about that, right? So what do you think?

CarolSue - Evenings work fine for me. I try to spend the weekends with my family (as much as possible). But if weekends work best for the majority, then I can work it out. :o)

Carol Sue-
I am pretty flexible, but some weekends I might not be able to come as I have committed to helping out at the horse ranch.

I am thinking food sounds good, Saturday thing my concern with that was family time. Let's see how it goes with some more input from some of the other gals. We can talk about it on Wednesday too. CS

No problem Alice, I'll email it shortly. By the way, a long time ago in San Francisco...I dated a guy named Paul Minasian. Any relation?
