Does anyone remember going to the feedstore and buying grain in fabric bags? The fabric was used for aprons, pillowcases, kitchen towels and children's clothing.
Hours were spent on the kitchen towels with needle work.
I still have doll clothes and a wide brimmed sun bonnet my Grandmother made from this fabric.

Linda-
I love that memory! I wish that grain was still sold in that fashion around here. I have seen Masa flour in cloth sacks, though I am not sure how quality the fabric is.
My mom talks about sewing summer clothes and doll clothes out of feed and flour sacks. If the pattern was pretty enough g'ma would make curtains out of them.
Linda: I can vaguely remember the feedsack material. My mother would sew things with the fabric, but I don't remember what. I can close my eyes and see the material. Memories are so wonderful, thanks for giving that memory back to me. Marly
