Oh what do I not have to do?!?!? I need to clean (who doesn't), but I also have to run errands, grocery shop, check on Grandma at the hospital, and hopefully, somewhere in all that running, I am going to try and scrapbook a couple of pages in Addy's book. Then tomorrow evening I have to pull up zinnias, squash and cukes...the saddest thing when the plants start giving out.

Today is the kids' first day back to school. I have the day off so I'm going to take them and pick them up.
The pooch is going to wind up getting hurt. She's right under my feet and this is the second time I have stepped on her tail this moring. Now she took a flying leap from the back of the couch to my chair and almost didn't make it. Crazy dog!
HAHAHAHA!!! was just reading Aunt Jenny's tagline. Mine skinny woman is screamin for brownies today. Mmmmm
Seriously have to get the kitchen cleaned today!! I have been putting it off for way to long.
I need to freeze the zuchinni I got this weekend. Can I freeze apples?? HA I am so new to all this stuff!
Finsih the laundry and restart my pillow project.
I think that should do it.

Tomorrow is entry day at the county fair so today is gettin ready day. I have to select what garden produce I'm going to enter. Funny how you can have 20 onions and not have 4 alike. So I'm doing onions, garlic, okra, hot peppers (of some kind) What ever else looks good from the garden. Not much out there. Then there is all my canning. Nine entries, I clean the jars and put on new rings and will lovingly pack them for the trip. I am also entering a couple of pieces of antiques glass out of the china cabinet. Today will be easy compared to the next 2 days.

Oh WOW...I have A LOT to do...all good stuff! I went to the farmers market Friday and practically bought them out I was SO HAPPY to see them and their fresh produce and eggs! I am glued to the T.V. though watching the Olympics...LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Olympics and what they stand for. It rained and it's cooler so all the windows are open and I am loving it! I posted I found my dream house/fixer-upper which has me calling and emailing and straining my brain to figure out how I can swing it.
Frannie...LOVE the floors....they are gorgeous! And what COOL colors you picked! I can imagine you don't even want to walk on them they're so pretty! I love paint! I want to make pickles and jam and watermelon rind pickles too but there's this house thing and painting outside and in and what do I do first!?!?!?!? I walked 3 miles this morning..."back in the saddle again" and it was so gorgeous in the woods...this is like week 3 of not smoking but really like month 4 or 5 since I just had a little, tiny relapse but back on the wagon!
I better get going and get some work done if I want to make that house a reality and sell this one! HOLY CANOLI MOLEY! I need to remind myself to BREATHE......
Now where did I put that canning stuff or did I sell it in a garage sale? Oh boy....I really need help I think! HAve a great day everyone...it is beautiful in AR today!

Yes i did Frannie and about 6 other experienced canners....I swear I think i was afraid that i would start a tomain poison epidemic! But it was fun and they look so beautiful...I sent Alan Honney to Walmart to get more JARS! I'm now gonna can up everything I can stuff into a jar....hmmm.. let me think about that....the possibilitis are endless!!!

Sounds like you had a fun day too. Painting is another one of my most favorite things that I hope to get back to someday....Life is good isn't it???? The weather HAS been good...Everything seems easier on clear cool days like we've had the last couple....

Tomorrow: Wool Sheep!

Luna,
Just a little plug for Cooperative Extension. Your local office will have tons of free publications on canning, freezing and drying foods. Or you can email me your addy and I will get them in the mail to you.
**Just want to remind girls on the board...your Extension Office can provide many many free services. Also, remember if you have the Presto Canners (the one with the dial,,,not the little jiggler thingie) Most offices cant test your preasure on your lids...free of charge.

First ...Love your blog...good to see you and Dr. Angie...say hi and tell her the lambies are all doing great...we gave our first vaccines this year and use her book all the time.
Second...It's not from lack of information...I must have read three books and talked to half a dozen people...watched two before doing it myself...just had never done it before and wanted to make sure I did it RIGHT...Now this morning I'm looking at them and the tomatos are sort of floating up...maybe put in too much liquid. The caps are tight...I think I see air bubbles though! Is that ok?

joy .. those olde timey pressure cookers that my nannie always warned us would 'explode' and take our heads offa' our shoulders (o.k. .. maybe those are MY words .. but it scared me that much and i would never go into the kitchen when she was cookin' in them!) i've been thinking of getting one of those new-fangled ones!

and thanks about the Extension Service reminder .. there is a ton of wonderful pamphlets and advice in that office. Our Arts Council and Extension Service is real big into the 'barn quilts' right now! Lordy! chile! you shoulda' seen me last night after 'priming' one board! i swear .. i got paint on two chairs, a bench, the floor, my hands, my shirt .. and a little on the BOARD! (goin' back tonight to do some more .. they will probably put me out on the lawn to paint mine!) (i did warn them that my best 'painting' is done with 'crayolas'!)

luna! a swear gurlfren .. looms are comin' outta' the woodwork! i now you have a line on several already .. i mentioned YOU at arts council last night .. (they reeeeeeeeeeeeeely want you to participate in our Art in the Alley festival next may or june!!) mimi said SHE has a loom for sale too .. but it isn't olde like Carol's! now THAT is the one to buy ... if you don't . .and IF i had 'space' for it .. i'd sure get it. the price is amazing!!!

wish i was gonna' be here to go look at it with you .. but we leave thursday morning for toledo!! (lucas' 7th birthday!)

I haven't done the pressure cooker yet. They actually seem safer. Nowadays they look like they were designed by the space program.

Yes looms are looming everywhere! The one for me will reveal itself! I will check them all.
