haven't put the furniture back yet .. but here are the new floor shades! i adore them .. they are so much more 'log cabin-ish' than the dirty white and yellow shades.
this is the hallway ... it kinda' looks like coffee with cream
here t'is again ... looking from the top kitchen step down the hallway .. that is the 'addition' between the two cabins that bring them together and leads from the upper to the lower cabin (you can see the outside wall of the lower cabin that is an INTERIOR wall along the hallway.
two 'mustard' shade steps in the kitchen .. stepping down into the hallway .. gonna' stencil the TOP steps in the hallway (three of them).
MUSTARD kitchen floor .. it isn't quite this 'bright' .. that is the flash on my camera.
 KITCHEN floor
this is the 'mossy' shade on the landing in front of the lower cabin .. on the 'stair risers' .. and in our bathroom and laundry room.
olde brick RED in our bedroom. got this hand-made southwestern cupboard (made in New Mexico by a woman) years ago. it's not as olde as my antique furniture .. but i wouldn't trade it for any piece in our home.
our bedroom looks onto the lower cabin log wall!
i LOVE every color!!! xo

Frannie- Your floors are beautiful. I know how hard Kathy must have worked on them, because I just finished painting mine last week and it was a ton of work. The brick red in your bedroom is stunning and I love the mustard kitchen. Happy decorating in your new rooms. :)

Frannie, I LOVE the new colors! Cant wait to see all the "stuff" back in those rooms. Your Prims will look great with those colors and even feel more cozy and warm...if that is possible.

Frannie, I love those colors, too! I like the warm colors...my living/dining rooms are a shade of gold, and my small sunroom is painted red. Everything is so clean after a fresh coat of paint. Please take photos of your rooms after everything has been put back in. Thanks for the update.

thanks sweetie pies .. slowly but surely puttin' stuff back! got the bedroom 'almost' set up like we want it .. put a larger cupboard in the bathroom (after taking out some wooden towel bars that we never used) .. HA! tryin' to get all my make-up stuffed back into ONE cupboard where before i had a two! guess .. i'm gonna' have to downsize those 372 tubes of lipstick .. 855 eye liners and 74 shades of eye shadow .. and oh lordy! don't even get me started on the number of nail polishes .. and the silly thing is that i rarely wear anything but two or three colors .. or none! YEP! that drawer is NEXT!!!
won't put the kitchen back until next week cuz' we wanna' move that stove to the other side of the room and Eddie the Electrician has to do that for us!
will take pics!
Karin .. what kind of paint did you use to paint your floors? we used porch and deck paint .. seems to be taking longer to dry or "cure".

Frannie- That is exactly what I used. I sanded and primed first, then layered on a color called Clair de Lune. It is a lovely, soft yellow and goes with averything I own. (How convenient.) I use a lot of black in my accessiroes and now it just pops out like crazy. It did take a while to cure. I left the floors untouched for two days, but still found a few tacky spots in the far reaches for a couple of days. I think humidity has a lot to do with the drying time, so I made sure the air conditioner was working full time to help. Oh, I talked with my sis in Cinci the other day and she is moving to North Carolina at the end of the month, so she will not be able to join us in Oct. Sadness, but she has to find a job before she can do anything else.

Frannie- This is the color of my floors. I am so much happier with them than when they were stained. I really don't know why I didn't do this sooner.

Karin, that's an interesting wall treatment! Is it wall paper, or did you glue those pages individually? Cool idea! I would spend a lot of time reading your walls...lol.

Frannie, those colors look fantastic, they are perfect for the cabin. The mustard goes well with so many different colors. I am crazy about the red. The colors are warm and homey, just the look I love. It sure is a major job moving everything out and back isn't it? We are doing the same things here. I love the results and being able to clean everything and weed stuff out. But it is a lot of work!! I just keep reminding myself how much I will like it when it is all done.
