I have no idea how to store my fresh herbs. I cut too many tonight. I know I can use then in 2 days. How I do store them? They smell so nice. My hands smell so nice from working with them. Ahhhhhhh................ I think I'm in Heaven.

Betty Jo, Here are some things I've done:

If still on the stem, put them in a glass of water and cover with ziploc bag. Can also put in ziploc bag with a damp paper towel for moisture and zip almost closed. They should last a few days this way.

If it's just the leaves, chop them and put them in ice cube trays and freeze them. They'll be good for months that way.

Any other suggestions, ladies?

God bless -
Karen

You can put them in left over strawberry trays with a little water and put in the fridge.

Thank you ladies, I just hate to waste them because of cutting to much. I always seem to cut to much. I just get so excited about having them and smelling them that I always go over board. Got to find a way to bring them inside and be able to use them all winter. UGH! Can't believe I just said winter.

how do you use them? I make TONS of pesto and use it all winter. but you can use any herb, really, or blend of herbs, it doesn't have to be all basil. i make some with mixed herbs, some with parsley....i also really like tomake herbed butters to use all winter.

you can also dry them for use through the winter. Hnag upside down tied in a bundle if still onthe stem. You can also use a dryer.
