use for getting clothespins clean again? That sounds a little silly I know but I have some that I left out when it rained and I wondered if there was a way to clean them up so they wouldn't leave those black marks on the clothes. I did buy new ones too but I just wondered about this.

I wonder if you scrubbed them with a toothbrush dipped in vinegar, if that might help? The vinegar should kill any mold or mildew and bleach the wood back a bit. May be worth a shot. :)

I would agree, or maybe some lemon juice and then leaving them in the sun?

I'll try it! thanks gals.
I hate to throw them out but I don't want to keep getting those marks on the clothes.

After trying just about everything (soaking in vinegar, peroxide and even beach NOT AT THE SAME TIME), I finally gave up and bought new pins. Mine had "wintered over" in the pin bag outside. I use the old ones to hold stuff in the garden, keep bags in trash bins, etc. Good luck and if you find something that does work, let me now; I still have almost a hundred really dirty-stained ones!

I don't have any great cleaning ideas but I do buy my clothespins at the dollar store. Cheap cheap cheap!
