We got our second egg today too, and this time in the nesting box (it wasn't in for the first egg, what smart gals I've got!)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMZsgFIj-DQ P~
That was a nice video Paige! I love youtube..how useful! I'm glad you posted it to share with us. I am thinking about getting a small flock of laying hens myself...I just have to convince the men in my life that it would be a good idea.
I thought they were Rhode Island Reds, but my hubby says they are "production reds". Not sure if that's hillbilly for RI reds, anyway, they are sweet and happy. I got them from a friend who raised them, along w/ their 18 mates, from chicks. Mine are laying while her's aren't. I'm convinced it's because we talk to them every day and because of the cuddle's and pets... P~
How funny - mine make the same noise when I go out to their pen. I agree with you about talking and cuddling yoru chickens. I think they know when they are ebing well-cared for. You sure do have a sweet little flock!
