so i am watching the storm on the weather channel and i see that illinois just got his and indiana is getting ready to get it. Praying there is not too much damage. They said wind damage was bad. hugs to you all.
It was quite a night. We had 2 storms that skirted us. 1 from the north - 1 from the south. Both carried tornado warnings. We had 1 that touched down (reports of) about 10 miles from us. 80 mph winds. We were fortunate, only severe thunderstorms for us. Both storms turned and headed out to Lake Michigan and the other to Indiana. But the news is showing flooding and lots of damage.
We did spend about an hour in the basement due to tornado warnings.
We we're lucky here, 20 miles southwest of Chicago, we had severe thunderstorms only. We did lose a huge branch off or an enormous ash tree in the front yard, but that was the only damage we had. We needed the rain, but could of done without the winds, lightning & tornado scares all around us! It looked like the poor IN folks got hit again. They've had a really tough time along the IL/IN border this summer.
