I'm curious what other crochet fans are working on and the types of projects that you find yourself wanting to make. I'm always drawn to vintage style work and things that blow the stereotype of lumpy, bulky crochet away. I'm currently working my way through a book called "Vintage Crochet" and though much of it isn't my idea of vintage inspired, there are some fun patterns. I have the doggy sweater on my hook right now so I can practice the popcorn stitch.

I'm also a big fan of the beta website, Ravelry and I find many good projects there. I wish Alicia Paulson had more crochet patterns because I LOVE her work.

What about you? What's on your hook?

Well, I am on ravelry, too...but I am not a very good crochetter, so I have made it my mission to become one this late summer/fall/winter. So I am currently in the midst of a girls 7/8 crochetted cotton skirt, and I have been trying out my newest stitches on washcloths, so I am getting a good stash of washcloths, and soon, I think I may even be able to read a simple pattern, but I am not holding my breath. My stuff is on my blog if you wanna go see.

I'm doing the crocheted skirt thing too, and dishcloths. Also on my blog. ;) Oh, and berets! I figure out how to make something simply, and then commence to make a bazillion of them.

I love your berets and skirts Bonne! Very cool dishcloth Jessica!
I'm working on another "nightie", and then it's onto some charity work for the babies. I'm hoping to get a few afghans and hats done for them by the holidays.

Kimberly Ann, I love Alicia Paulson too! I've got her snowbunny baby hat pattern. http://rosylittlethings.com/crosnowbunny.html It's such a timeless design.

I've been obsessed with crocheting baby girl capes and ponchos...still need to blog the hats I've made to match..you can see my stuff on my queenofdreamsz blog.

Thanks for adding me to your friends list at Ravelry!

I don't crochet often but always have a little project in a zippered bag in my car or tote bag..right now it is a strip of sage green lace. It is kinda narrow and simple..not sure where I will use it yet, but I am making it long enough to use it for a set of pillow cases or a recieving blanket...something like that. I love the color..size 40 cotton.

Oh Jenny, size 40!!! egads..I'm not sure they make a magnifier that strong..LOL When my eyes were at their strongest I would occasionally use size 20 and 30...would love to see a picture of it and dream about working with something that small again..I've been using size 10 lately and it's a challenge.

I am working on a washcloth (my first) so I am kind of winging it. I am working on a baby afgan for my grandbaby and I am working on finishing one my grandmother started before she passed away 11 years ago.

I learned to crochet 37 yrs ago when expecting my second child. Just picked up a good housekeeping magazine that had "learn to crochet" directions in it and taught myself while making a baby afghan. I love to crochet and always have something going. I envy anyone who can crochet with thread, though, I find it really frustrating! I'm a yarn person! I just finished a snowflake afghan for my daughter and a dinosaur afghan for my grandson, have another one going for my great-nephew's first birthday.

Big hook has a wash cloth at work; tiny hooks have coin purses and more lace trim. I made some for my denim jacket, then wasn't sure I lked it once it was on. This round will go on some pillow cases (I think)...

I admire anyone who works with thread - I find it really difficult. I feel all clumsy holding the hook and I don't have a good standing magnifier so I can actually see what I'm doing (I know lots of folks work by touch but I gotta see it too).

I still haven't gotten the hang of edging yet. My next project will be a mantle runner so I can practice.

Wow...you gals are ambitious and talented! I've crocheted on and off for years but I'm not that good. I only do scarves and afghans (LOL!) but I am going to try the thread doily CAL in Bunch of Country Swappin Gals Henhouse so wish me luck! I am finishing a baby afghan right now for my new grandson. It is really granny squares with pastel middles and white on the outside but even after I get the last row done I have to piece it all together so I guess I'm not REALLY done by a longshot!
I'd like to do a rug like Bonne too someday! Thanks for this posting...it's so nice to hear and see what others are working on!
