It will be a one on one swap unless we get a lot of people in that case it may be an additional person. I always make sure no one gets left out. The cut off date for signing up will be on Oct 15th so we can be sure to get our packages to our partner by Halloween!
It is horrible hot here today and the humidity is horrible. I don't mind the heat but the humidity is bad. The nights have been cool, dropping down in the 60's, a pleasant change, but still can't cut off the air conditioning yet.

For all you candle lovers out there take a peek at Nellie's Acres, she has the most fabulous soy candles that just have oodles of scent - I have one called fallen leaves I believe that is the name of it. Just run down her list and descriptions of scents and it will make you want them all - she is also a seller on ebay and that is where you get the good deals. Her candles burn a long time too!

Yep, you girls are right. We have all our Fall and Halloweem=n stuff out at the shop. People are giving us strange looks and many comments about it being out already. We are supposed to be having some less humid weather this week. Autumn is my favorite season. I am going to pass on this swap. Busy, busy but I hope you all have a fun time!

Hehehe, I am a witch, can I get any witchier? lol - We are getting a lot of signups for this - it will be fun. Are there many magazines out yet with fall themes? I think between Sept and Dec I buy all the magazines on the market - I love Country Living Gardener in the Fall, it is usually packed with ideas. This year I want to go all-out and get scads of mums - One of my favorite traditions that I do myself and have not done the last few years is - my husband works usually on Halloween night and I am home alone - soooo, I dress up in something witchy like Elvira or a gypsy and I carve a pumpkin and take it in my room and when it gets dark I put out all the lights and have a candle in the pumpkin and I watch my favorite movie, Halloween (never get tired of that one) and try not to be scared. A really scary movie too is Jeepers Creepers - but that is a whole other story lol, one of my most terrifying nights spent alone and would have made a great 'scare tactics' episode. I will tell you about that later - LOL
What are your Halloween traditions? Do you have any great Halloween Themed recipes??? Do do tell us all! :O

In our building at school, the first staff meeting of the month is food and a celebration of everyone's b-day that month. For many years now, the special education department gets October. We go crazy! We have all kinds of great food and give-aways! Halloween was really the love of another staff person who is retired now but I love to carry on that "tradition". I usually make up a BIG crockpot of "knuckles and bones" (meatballs and weenies in a grape jelly bbq sauce), witch's fingers (sugar cookies made to look like fingers complete w/slivered almond fingernails), "giant spiders" (no bakes with chow mein noodle legs), and the ever popular dirt cake. Last year I tried something a little different and it turned out pretty awful looking so I turned it into "swamp" pudding. <ha> I do "eyeballs" (deviled eggs) too. Last year, I also tossed in a couple loaves of pumpkin/chocolate chip bread and zuchinni chocolate bread. This year I may try setting out a bowl of "blackheads/scabs" (raisins/dried cranberries), Oh...and I recently got this suggestion of putting cooked orzo in the knuckles/bones as "maggots"!!!! That's SURE to creep people out!!! I'm also looking for a "brain" mold to make a blueberry cottage cheesey chill over! Won't that be yummy! Of course I wear my witch hat and a great black/orange jacket and my spider earrings. I also made myself a beaded charm bracelet from some really wonderful frankenstein/witch/pumpkin beads....

Wow Starmeadow! Some awesome ideas and the maggots, now that is a gem of an idea, original, I would have never thought of it - hehehe wonder if I could eat it :) I have always liked the look of the clear plastic gloves filled with popcorn that have candy corn as the nails inside of the glove. Ewww that reminds me, I need a bag of candy corn to keep near my bedside for when I am watching TV!

Yeah...I'm not sure if I'll be able to eat "maggots" either... You can also fill those gloves with water and freeze them, then peel off the plastic and float your "hand" in a punch dish...make sure the punch is a nice red!
