Toilet for me. I don't think I could sit in an outhouse. LOL
That makes me laugh just thinking about it. LOL I could do without electricity. Wait, do I need electricity to flush? LOL Good question you've posted here. Maybe I better think some more about what I would get rid of last.

Today... it's the new dishwasher. =) Really, I think indoor plumbing would go last also.

shower would be the last thing to get rid of, next in line would be the washer... So I wouls have to agree to plumbing, but I would also miss the automobile greatly...

Indoor plumbing for me too. I think I could do without electricity before I could do without my toilet or shower.

I'm going to have to agree with you gals- indoor plumbing. Electricity comes in a very close second.

I'd say plumbing also, followed very closely by electricty. We had our electric go out during a winter ice storm last year for almost a week, and while it was nice to have water, we couldn't heat it because our water heater and stove were electric! I'm just thankful we have a fireplace to keep somewhat warm. We slept in shifts so that we could keep the fire going and keep from freezing! We did manage to heat some water in the fireplace, but it sure wasn't enough to fill a bathtub!

I grew up spending the entire summers at a camp that didn't have plumbing. I could and have lived without it. I love when the lights are out but I LOVE my air conditioner. We had another day that topped 100 today. So I am gonna say AIR CONDITIONING!

I can answer that definitively - as our cabin is currently very primitive. I can live without the electricity for lights, etc., I can live without running water, I can live without TV or phone, but the one thing that is the very hardest is living without refrigeration. You get really sick of canned and dried foods wjem that's all you can have!

We have lived without all modern convience a few years ago while building a cabin. It was an either /or thing. We could buy the land OR rent in town- we chose the land and several years of taming the wild - and all the while with 3 kids! Outhouse hauling water and no power. Hmmmm.. now the last thing I'd want to give up is refrigeration- even in the heat the AC would be easier to live without than keeping food cold.
I have to tell you- we have some wonderful stories of outhose life in the dark!!! Hmmm Sounds like a book to me.

Blessings,
Autumn

I'm with you girls - indoor running water would be the last thing to go. I could do without electric, but I like my baths! (I once didn't rent a lovely Victorian apt. because there was no bath!)
