well just watched the weather, heat in OK, TX, and AR will be in the 100's today, some will see 110 temps! ack! Sounds like I will be hosing off the animals quite a bit today and staying indoors myself. Wondering what I will be doing today- besides laundry.
I know it's hot here in AR...it rained last night and the day before so I don't have to water...thank you Lord! But you can hardly breathe out there it is so hot and muggy! I know it's hot when I go outside and the dog refuses to go with me! LOL! Stay cool girls! Praise the invention of AC .....how did anyone function down here before that? I'm from the north so maybe you have to be raised in it? I was out the other day on and off all day and it was 93 but again the dog was smarter than me! I made her come out though....it's her job to gaurd me and watch for snakes and varmits.....my animals have to earn their keep!

We got a HUGE rain and thunderstorm this morning. It stopped and the temp has already risen considerably! My chickens have been getting lots of cold watermelon and ice. We topped 103 yesterday for several hours. Hubby and I went to a movie!
It's so hot here, and it's predicted to be blazing hot all next week. My dog usually likes to go out and lay on the driveway. Because she doesn't see a difference between the driveway and the middle of the busy road , I usually go out and sit and watch her while she dozes for a while. Not now! I'll watch her from the storm door while I stay in the cool!

We've got pop-up shade tents, hard plastic kiddie pools, and fine-spray misters going for all the critters. Even the chickens are standing in some of the shallower water pans! This kind of heat can be really hard on the poor babies.
