Alee...how do you do this? Do you buy preprinted pillowcaes and embroider them or do you have to make the pillowcases and do your own design? Just want to know what I'm supposed to do and make sure I do it properly. I've never participated in a swap before but it sounds SO fun!

Hi Sandra-
It's up to you! I haven't ever made the pillowcases by scratch before- just bought plain white ones or used plain white ones I had on hand. I know you can buy linens with a pre-printed embroidery design or you can get Iron-On transfers (Like Aunt Martha's) to iron on. Or if you are really ambitious you could free hand some!
Go with whatever makes you feel comfortable. Remember as in all gifts, it's the thought and love that count. I am sure your swap partner will adore whatever you send.
The biggest thing is the follow through- It seems a lot of people start with good intentions but life gets in the way and things that should have been shipped linger around. I have been guilty of that in the past and am trying to get better.

I love it but I need to focus on Christmas presents now. Aunt Jenny- My celtic tatting was looking crummy- so I clipped it off the pillowcase and I am doing the tatting that is in the Stitching Room book. It looks much better. So I decided I am going to use this as an opportunity to do my tatting badge! How cool is that?!
So for us Sisters in the swap- consider working on your Stitching room badges for this swap! There are lots of opportunities! Tatting, Embroidery of course, A quilted pillowcase? Crochet lace? Just a few ideas! Here is the link:
