What kind of squash is this on my blog and what kind of things or recipes can I do with it? I need to know soon because I don't want it to go bad! Thank you, girls!
If it is a cross-pollinated volunteer squash-gourd, it may have no flavor at all. Or maybe it will be good (or good-enough). Maybe if you combined it with other veggies and herbs and spices into a bakeover or stir-fry, you might just have something. But I'd think that cooking it solo is a little chancey.
What did the food co-op think if they gave me something like this? I am never going back to that one for certain! And going to find something where people know their food and it's "down-home".. I have been realizing this city co-op doesn't know what they are doing ... it's odd.
That is one odd looking squash. My first thought was that it was the result of a cross between a birdhouse gourd and a watermelon! Let us know how your pie turns out, Brooke.
