Jeannie, I am telling you I have never seen anyone like Virge, There was 5 boys in Sterls family and they all told stories but Virge will crack you up, As funny as they are you will never hear of them talking vulgar, You should have heard the tale they was telling about a deer Sterl saw this morning by the time the tale ended it was as tall as he is, I told them we could get fat on all the balogny they was feeding me

Jeannie, brining a turkey is the best. Once you do it, you'll not go back. I've done it since Cook's Illustrated Magazine printed the recipe/concept about 1990. Just remember to rinse the brine off and not to salt the bird when cooking. If you need recipes/tips, let me know.
Miss Wilma, have a wonderful get away. Sure those boys will be just fine with you gone?

Yippee! Woodworking projects for the spring! I'll take the boards off while I'm doing the insulation. In fact, I'm going to take some pics of the boards tomorrow while I'm there. :D

Got bad news I dont get to go, Mickie is down in her knees and can hardly walk, Do you remember her Carol sue, What I am so dissappointed about is I dont get to go fishing, and I could have went to Corbin maybe with Luna, Laura AND jOY, sO i WILL JUST GET TO WASH MORE DISHES AND and hear more tales.I looked at one of the biggest and best dry sinks I ever saw this week but it was 1200 hundred dollars and over my budget a big lot, I do have 3 wonderful cupboards spotted so hopefully I will get them.

Oh yes, I remember Mickie and I am so sorry her knees are hurting her so bad....No fishing and not getting to get to see some of the girls on top of it. Whoa, and you "get" to do dishes, now somehow that just doesn't seem right!!!!!

Yes, early in morning, pain being a bugger, but took more meds and should get some sleep pretty soon!!!!! LOL

Janice & miss wilma, do you have any pics of the dry sinks?? We will be re-doing the sink in our downstairs bath that has Mail Pouch Barn siding as walls. I want to have an older style sink base with a piece of granite on top & then I bought a handmade pottery free standing sink for the top. I have an old antique cabinet I could use, but the doors are sort of flimsy & I want something that can stand up to hubby opening & shutting often.. Still looking for ideas. Plus our bath is super small, so I can't use anything too big & I don't want to spend too much cause I will have to put holes in the top for the plumbing.

The bag of quilt blocks now belong to a new owner Ronna, For any of you that like vintage clothing the wedding dress is much prettier than photo. Well it sure is quite around here now with all the windbags gone, Next year I will definatly find some where to go . The only game that was brought in here was three rabbits, Food was abundant though thanks to Miss Wilma. I am telling you it is an experience trying to get a meal on the table with three tall tale men setting around the table. Well I got news for those guys this little maid has just quit. I really do enjoy Sterls brother coming , I am just tired of waiting on them so from now on I will find somewhere to go and come in in time to eat, Got this off my chest now I am going to find something to laugh about. You know you really would think that in five days one of those addled men would have suggested taking me out to eat. Sorry girls I am not usually such a grouch .

So is he a cookin that hamburger!!!!!!

Miss Wilma, 5 days of men who don't know how to do dishes would be a bit much. And dang them, not taking you out for dinner one night at least, dang someone better teach those tall talers about treating Miss Wilma right, not just with tall tales!!!!!!
Hmmm, I know of some farmgirls....lol

Girl, you aren't grouchy, just a wee bit tired of cookin!!!!!

Isn't it funny, when we get tired and exasperated for a bit, get a good nights sleep and miss them like crazy. So so true.

Yeah, Ronna, you will have to find that sewing machine yet, especially with way cool vintage blocks.

It is always a bright spot to have the grand kids over isn't it. Sunday afternoons sharing family, I certainly have good memories as a kid from that and plan to continue it on with our family.

Fireplace is calling.....warm is very good!!!!!

yippppeeeee, mail for me from Miss Wilma. I LOVE to shop at Miss Wilma's-just imagine what I'd bring home if I ever get to visit her in KY. In case anyone wonders what kind of little girl she's putting in a box for me, she is graciously selling me the little girl mannequin she got awhile back. I was lucky enough to be the first in line to buy her.
