I'm in withdrawal from the food! How about we share recipes we brought? I'm thinking Jonnie's apple pie, the green beans, that speghetti salad I ate up Friday night... must go snack now! I brought the bread both white and sour dough. Thoughts?

Ohio Lisa Sterl has worried so much because he didnt get his biscuit brown on the bottom, I told him that was alright because he could just make you another one to make up for it. We cant wait for all of you to come back, I WANT ALL OF YOU TO KNOW-- I had the best time I have had in a long time. When Kelly wrote about little Abby I cried wanting to see her to.I think the recipe swap is good to I will see about the pasts one Dana, Went back and got my stitches took out I can now put my leg in the shower, He reassured me again that he had got it all, Leaving around noon tomorrow for 4 days of rest. YOU KNOW I MISS ALL OF YOU SO MUCH

Today at work has been a real letdown. I just want to go back to Wilma's. Here's a link to a photobucket slide show I did with some of the pics I took.
http://s304.photobucket.com/albums/nn187/janicehall/?action=view¤t=fd34562b.pbw

***This thing(slideshow) worked yesterday but when I tried it this morning, it didn't, so I deleted it and I'm reposting it.
(I hope this works)

My apologies to Abby. I have mistyped her name as Ashley and Photobucket won't let me fix it. Grrrrr....got to go home for now. I'll try again to correct that tomorrow.

Janice that was so much fun! I just love all of Miss Wilma's gardens and the fall displays were so cheery. What fun you all had. Thanks for the slideshow.

Hi girls, I am back home safe and sound and tireder than I ever thought I could be, but worth every part of that tired and achy.
I would not have traded this week for anything in the whole wide world. I learned so much, no I had never seen a tobacco farm, yes I took pictures of it. I love love love Miss Wilma, she is a jewel to know and have the priviledge and I mean priviledge of becoming friends with. Her hubby is the kindest funniest man, the gold to her being a jewel. He likes to tease and have fun, just like my dad and grandpa. It was like walking into home, sitting down for a spell and visiting with my family, because speaking of adopted, you both are by me, that is for sure and certain.
Then there is Janice and Dave, no talk about the most giving people, of their time and driving and being there for whatever was needed. Chatting with them both on the way down was grand, asking about Kentucky and what was what. Like those crazy little trees, they were cedars and they don't get very big at all, cedars here when you have them grow to be huge.
Their hospitality towards me the night I arrived was such a blessing and through out the weekend. They and Miss Willma and Sterl are generous of heart.
Dave, you are the cooking king!!!!!
Yes, I got to go junkin, and that was way way fun. I also got to ask what is this, what is that, what does it do....I bet they got tired of those questions but it was so cool to learn.
Now girls, I got to sleep in Miss Wilmas Primite and Antique shop. Can we say amazing.....no I couldn't sleep the first night I got there , I wandered around lookin and lookin and lookin, finally had to force myself to go to bed. Friday we cooked and prepped for Saturday, I made a batch of grape jelly. I had always made jam, now I know how to make jelly and there are some grapes I need to go pick for just that!!!!! That and the talking was grand, Jonni was there in the morning with her famous pies and they were worth waiting for on Saturday!!!!!!
She is so sweet and just a glowin.....smile. Miss Dana and her daughter, Ava, Kelly and her daughter Abby got their Friday evening. What fun to meet more farmgirls....and eat, oh girls that eating was divine!!!!!!! I tried all kinds of things I had never eateng before and some day when I get to go back I want to try fried apple pies!!!!! We sat around Miss Wilma's kitchen table and turned some of the projects we were going to do Saturday. Finally we all headed for bed, and yes, it was late. When Miss DAna and I and Ava got to bed we still get chatting and laughing.....yep....time keep moving on, to fast I might add.
So Saturday it was hit the deck running....oh meeting Joy and Laura friday night and then Lisa and her sister Pam and Lainey.
Each one of you are so dear to my heart, yes, I am blubbering!!!!! We stared off stuffing, santa stars, snowmen,
beautiful heart pinkeeps, the stuffing was flyin along with chatter, laughter and concentration. The aprons were donned and the work.....hahahaha had begun. We sat under the maple trees at tables, with the country sounds around us and pure joy in our hearts. Oh Yess the Custer girls were there too. They were pure sweet. So after sewing and working up our appetites the spread was layed out. And what a spread it was, every kind of salad I swear you could think of, country ham, beans, pulled pork, greens, and the desserts.....ooohhhhhh lala. Jonni made Apple, Pumpkin Eggnog, Sweet Potatoe and Kentucky pie. Yes, I tried a sliver of all of them, my two favorites were Pumpkin Eggnog and Kentucky pie. Yep, we need recipes shared.
We also got to meet friends of Wilma and Sterls who came in for the spread and stayed to listen to the bluegrass band. Now girls, you could not keep your feet still listening to them....
yep, we worked on the clogging some....clapped along and boggied when we wanted to....after all that, we were still talking, doing dishes, eatng more....and so throughly enjoying ourselves, finally we headed to bed....yeah, like we really slept right away, nope, Miss Dana and I were dog tired and yep we still were blabbing....
Sunday morning, slowly slowly I got up, then the cowbell was a ringing calling us to breakfast....we all went in pjs, it was a pj breakfast and no you do not get to see any pictures!!!!!
Oh my Sterls big biscuit was great and gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, juice and more. There was no going away hungry.
So then we were off and running doing birdhouses and scarecrows. It was so much fun watching Abby make her scarecrow and Ava's girlie girl one, so many ideas and creativity from all the girls.....slowly one by one they started leaving and the goodbyes began, ohhh how I miss you all. So after they were all gone we had leftover yummo dinner and oh my gosh was I pooped.
I headed down to the house and started packing that suitcase. You should have seen it, I should have took pictures.
...
I woke up before sunrise yesterday morning and watched the sun come up, took pictures and headed up to the house for a good breakfast and then out the door for one last bit of junkin!!!!
Then it was back to Miss Wilmas and Sterl's and making the good byes...and taking pictures of them.
Dave and Janice drove me back up to Louisville, we were a little quieter on the way back, I think we were all pooped and Dave had to go work!!!!! What a man!!!!
When Janice said I came in just under the mark she wasn't kidding!!! And my backpack was just as bad but thankfully they didn't weigh it. It was carry on, I have to tell you my shoulder and neck muscles hurt pretty darned bad from that thing!!! But it had precious cargo, spoils from the trip.
So there I am fat dumb and happy, boarded the plane and wow did it hit how tired I was, I had finally stopped....lol
So we fly into Memphis and for some reason in my head, I didn't have to board until 6:30pm, I looked down at the ticket and we boarded at 5:50pm and the plane had landed at 5:30pm, ehhhh gads I started booking it cause I was clear on the opposite side of the airport, talk about sweating it.....that was an understatement. Whooosshhhiieee, I made it. I ended up sitting beside a couple that was heading back to Spokane. They had been to Branson Missouri. Flew into Minneapolis, my buns were majorly dragging, on the next plane I slept off and on, daughter meet me at the airport, I came home, found my meds, kissed on sweet Caleb and hit the rack.
Now this morning I was like slow molasses....I drove to the school and hugged the girls and let them see that Nana was home safe. Came home and am sewing, have to turn in some quilt blocks this afternoon....then I am majorly taking a nap.
Thank you doesn't even cover it for you and the gang Miss Wilma, you all have enriched my life greatly,
Carol Sue

Carol Sue, I could not have said it any different. It was the time of a lifetime, & at the center were Wilma & Sterl, with everyone else just making it even better.
How about another one in 2 weeks?? Are you up for it miss wilma???(just kidding & you can kick me hard when I see you at Burlington)
So glad you made it under the mark Carol Sue; it was probably a good thing that you made the mini scarcrow, although the hardware on that birdhouse probably accounted for a few pounds at least!
What a great memory; so glad to meet you all, hope to see you all again soon!! LOVE YOU ALL!
(Miss Dana you need to go to Across the Fence; there is a bra discussion there; & those of you that missed out on that, well what can I say, breakfast chatter with a few cup sizes thrown in..TEE HEE)

Dana, I LOVE IT, just had to let you know how much, this the capitals, can you just hear me saying that.....I can hear you laughin at me girl!!!!! It is beautiful and I was wondering how I was going to finish embleshing mine. I put a button in the middle and on the edge so I can sew a ribbon on the opposite side to keep it shut if I wanted to. Now sure what I am going to do on the front and the back. Cause you know we have to put our very own signatures on them.....

Miss Wilma, you better be resting girl, cause our favorite energizer bunny rabbit does rest every now and then.

Ok, now I have to go check out the photos from Jancie....now where was that link.......dah.....

Janice,
Thanks so much for the slideshow! We all had so much fun. I sure hope Miss Wilma gets to rest on her mini vacation. I know she had worked so hard for such a long time and I know for 3 days she went non-stop.

You're right, Joy. Miss Wilma was constantly on the move for three days straight. And she had done a lot of prep work before that. I wish she could bottle that energy and send me a case! :) I sure enjoyed meeting everybody. It's hard to imagine that a group of people who had never met in person could just join up like a family and have such a wonderful time together. I think the memories of last week are going to carry me for a long time to come.
