I'm thankful for my dad living to see his 73rd birthday today. He's got health issues and is on dialysis 3 times a week, and is doing well.

I am grateful at being to rise up in the morning, get out of bed, and do the things that must be done for each day.

I'm thankful that I'm still here... was in a car crash earlier this year that should have killed both the hubby and I.

First of all I am thankful for my beloved Sweetie pie! He is the best, and only gets better with age I am grateful for what eyesight that I have. I had an eye virus that typically blinds people and I got out of it with just impaired vision. I am thankful for all of the wonderful colours and textures of the world, the marvel of being human and laughter. Which, next to the cry of a newborn, is the most beloved of sounds. I am thankful to be alive in such times that try the spirit, that I may grow and in times of such advancement that I marvel at science. I have enough to eat, clean water and a roof over my head. There is much to be thankful for always.
Most of the time I am just thankful and am happy to be loved (bad hair and all)

I am thankful for our Farmer's Markets. I use our small garden for our summer salads..lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and beans. I go to the farmer's markets for canning. I can buy a ton of cucumber and tomatoes and make all the pickles, sauces and salsas we need for winter. Farmers work hard!! Laura

This is too cute, well I'll start with something out of the ordinary. It is not a person, but rather a thing. For some reason it means almost the world to me. When my mum finally married she wanted a baby so bad well shortly after she was pregnant. As soon as she found out she was pregnant she crocheted this blanket for me. Well when I was born they curled it up with me. My great-grandma (granny) would talk loud to wake me up and play with me. She only had about a year with me and I bet she knew that too. Well she would put the blanket up to me and say nummy nummy nummy......my blanket is my nummy. I used my left hand to feel it and sucked my two middle fingers on the right hand. It is now older than me, 26 it is and I'm almost 26. It is turning into a string of yarn and the color is a dismal grayish nondescript color when it used to be white blue and pink. Pieces rip off and I put them in a drawer. I love it. It is my vice when I am stressed out I feel the goodness in it and it makes me relaxed. hehe I love it beyond any other material possession and it represents what my mum was thinking of having a baby. I know when I have a baby I will make the same blanket for them.

As a receptionist at a small financial firm, I rarely get shown appreciation...one of the visiting financial reps offered to pick me up something for lunch and for free....I am glad that there are people out there that do repect the work that receptionists do.
