Found a solution for getting the inside of my husband's thermos clean - he fills it in the morning with coffee, sugar and milk and by the afternoon it was sour - so now everynight after washing it out I drop one Fixodent tablet in it and let it set overnight! Solved the problem.

This is a wonderful idea! I took cheese broccoli soup to a friend in my dh's narrow mouth thermos and I couldn't get the last little bits out of the bottom. I will be giving this a try.

We have stainless steel countertops that we got at the restaurant supply place-- i wonder if fixodent water would work to clean them as well> the ones we use are wiped down on a regular basis but the lower shelves with the dog water are sort of greenish now. i don't even know where to start cleaning them....

I have cleaned my husbands stainless steel thermos by filling it 3/4 full of hot water adding a tablespoon of vinegar and then adding a teaspoon of baking soda. All the goop just fizzes right out. Needs to be standing in the sink when you do it!

I think you could use a buffer (on a drill) with a product called Flitz. They have a website - I think the fixodent water would not be strong enough to do the job.
