Our two year old cockapoo has been shaking his head and trying to scratch his ears. I took him to vet, she said he had nothing blocking his ears, no wax build up just a bit pink and probably just allergy. We were given a RX & put drops in each ear for past 4 days. He hate us doing this....& He still shakes his head..Any suggestions of what we can try to relieve his misery?

Hey Cheryl...that's strange, for sure. What meds did they give you? If it persists for more than 5 or 7 days, call the vet back....they should change it out. Sounds like yeast or mites to me, but if you say they ruled this out...then...not sure what it is..
My Jack Russell was doing the same thing (his ear smelled too) and the vet found a small piece of grass very deep in the ear cannal, she almost couldn't see it. After they removed it they flushed his ear out and gave him ear drops for the stink (yeast infection).
My dog had a recurring yeast infection in her ears and we tried both antibiotics and ear ointment from the vet as well. After doing a little research online I found that acidopholus is great for balancing the good/bad yeasties...so I feed her yogurt. If it comes back after drying out, you may want to give it a try.
