Found a good use for a canning jar of buttons, a nice place for the little kettle I got yesterday, and a new cookbook.
Boy is it a hot one here today, I have company coming up next week from South Carolina, so the weather will suit them fine. Have to make a lot of good food up on Sat. and Sun. They will be here Sunday night. They will be staying upstairs in the museum room, can't get bored up there, well maybe my Brother will, but I know my sister in law will like it.So have to come up with good food ideas and things to do for four days. I know my sister in law can't wait to go to the thrift. So I bet we will be doing that a few times.

GREAT idea about the buttons/canning jar and bookend!!! Mind if I 'borrow' that one??:D -the idea, not your actual jar, of course....LOL

Nancy - your jar is a great book-end, just be careful it does not get slipped off the edge of your table.....those blue jars are getting hard to find around here. And especially the ones with a lid. It is very pretty, the whole photo.

Good idea, Nancy Jo! Looks adorable. Now, when will you ever find the time to read all those books with all the thrifting?

Thank you Miss Wilma. Jonni, I know I have a lot of books, but I can't resist them when I see them at the thrift or garage sales. I read everyday, so I SHOULD MAKE A DENT IN THEM AT SOME POINT. JEANNIE. I will be carefull. The jar is pretty heavy, their are a lot of buttons in it.

Sandra,
I have been looking everyday to see a post from you someplace on the MJ site and you were no where to be found, so I thought maybe you were on a summer vacation someplace. Well anyway, nice to see you are back. A gift for me???? How exciting. I will send you my address. Thanks for checking out my site as usual. Funny how we miss people we don't know in person isn't it?

Lovely pics as always. Thanks for sharing. I look forwards to seeing your thrift finds and such. Wish they were some thrift stores around here. There is one down the way a bit, I keep meaning to go down there and check it out. Maybe I will one day.
Have a great day and take care,
Marcy

Marcy, thank you, and get to the thrift down the road! Sometimes nothing, another day more then you can carry home. Give it a try.

Love the bookends from the jar of buttons.

Wish I had more time to go to the thrift store, but there again, not sure where I would put whatever I brought in.:-)
