Hello! After a couple months of lurking, I decided to join in with y'all. My name is Lynn, I'm a wife to a wonderful man, a mother of 2 boys and a girl and a stepmom to two adults and a stepgrandmother to one precious blue-eyed baby girl. I'm also a daughter to a Preacher and his wife. And I have three brothers and I'm the baby. I know, I'm spoiled, I've heard it before. I'm 36. I live in central Ky.

My dh and I long to be out in the country so much that it hurts. We are waiting on our Father to bring it our way.

I'm here to learn more about being a farmgirl. Really, I know nothing and need all the help that I can get. I can barely crochet and sew. I can crosstitch quite well and I scrapbook and make cards. I love scrapping. I'm learning alot about Herbs and I have a small garden. I do can my own salsa and I'm hoping to can my own spaghetti sauce this year.

I'm looking forward to learning from y'all.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30

Welcome, Lynn, from another Kentucky girl (but a northern one!). Sounds like you'll fit in here right off the bat, so enjoy!

There are plenty of other Kentucky girls in your part of the state that you can meet up with, you lucky girl!

Welcome Lynn! Where do you live in Central KY? I'm from Waco, near Richmond. That's just south of Lexington. I'm like you, coming here to learn from everyone. And I'm sure we can learn from you as well. I look forward to getting to know you better.

Girls, I'm about five miles south of Lexington in Nicholasville.
It sure is pretty country here. We would love to move further south to either Lancaster or Stanford areas.

I live IN town. They have built a new subdivison near us with cheap townhouses that are rented to drug dealers. We've had shootings here too. It's sooooo sad, I see so many teenagers sitting on the porch with nothing to do except hang out or walking up and down the street. And the small children late at night walking with friends !!

I'm just wanting a quiet place for my children to roam around on in safety. A nice garden. ( I'm working on that here) Treehouses, creeks, and a pond.

I'm working real hard on trying to be content where God has placed us.
There are days that it is hard, very hard. But My Father is changing me. I'm learning to be content.

Frannie dear, I've been to Berea a couple of years ago. Goodness, I can't remember if the youngest was born yet. Anyway, I loved it. It was very nice to see people working on their crafts. I could watch the weavers alllll day long. My dh and I like to watch glassblowers also. And flea markets. I love flea markets. Matter of facts we went to an indoor one tonight here in town and they had one booth that everyone here would love. It had things from ages ago. Tins, books, magazines,cookbooks....more, much more.

Where is Greensburg? I know where Greensburg, Indiana is, but not the one in Ky.

Hey there "neighbor". I'm just down the road from you over in Versailles! I've been to Nicholasville plenty of times as our favorite place to eat (Sonny BBQ) is over there and we usually go to the TSC store while there. There are a few more farmgirls that are from up here too. I no longer live on a farm, but was born and raised on one.

You mention Lancaster & Stanford...I love traveling through those towns. You mention Berea too...I know all about the town as I lived there for several years. The folks are wonderful down there and I still love to visit.

So glad to hear of another farmgirl from my neck of the woods! Welcome!!

Lynn, Welcome from another KY girl South/Central KY. I long for the country also. I live at the edge of our small town on 2 acres but I long for a farm or to live in the mountains. Maybe someday. But for now I will enjoy where I am.
I am soooo looking forward to a KY chapter!

Welcome Lynn:
I am about a week old new comer to the Farm site. Love it.
I crochet, but cannot knit. I've tried, but just can't do it. I love to paint, read, garden, and I love all of my furry children, 7 cats and one dog.
Have a great and happy day.

Hi Lynn, welcome to the farm. I'm a KY farmgirl born and raised in western KY, just happen to be transplanted in southwestern IN right now. I spent time in Nicholasville while in college and loved the town.

Sounds like you have a great start on being a farmgirl with the activities you listed.
