Last night as I was laying down, I felt something get into my eye. An Eyelash? A Piece of dust? I tried rubbing a little bit (I know, I know...I shouldn't have done that!) When it didn't come out I went to the bathroom. I couldn't see anything so I went back to bed thinking I had either scratched my eye or whatever it was would work itself out.

Nope! It's still here this morning. I am at a loss for what to do. I even tried filling a medicine dropper with water to flush my eye. It hurts in an irritating way. Anybody got a good idea?

Alee, I'm going to tell you it straight just like a mom. Don't mess with your eyes, take it to a doctor! Please get help. You only get one set of eyes.

I used to work as an opthalmic tech so I would highly reccomend flushing your eye with some sterile saline/contact lens solution. If you are using well water try to avoid rinsing it with that if at all possible. If you still feel something in there you really should have someone else look at it for you. If you get a scratched cornea or something you would possibly need an antibiotic for it. So please flush it and if that don't help get it checked. Eyesight is too precious to lose.

Thanks ladies!

Betty Jo- Eye pain is such agony! I was about ready to make an appointment as soon as the doctor's office opened. Luckily my tears flushed out whatever it was.

Christina- Thanks for the tips! I wouldn't have thought of contact solution. Which one of the contact solutions are you not supposed to put directly into your eyes? Is it the no-rub kind?

Alee-- it's the "Soaking" solution and some "Multi-Purpose" solutions you should never put in your eye! The bottle's are clearly labeled though, so if you see the one that says "Sterile Saline Solution" that's the one you want. I don't think brand really makes a difference, though some people SEAR that they do. The one for sensitive eyes would probably be best if your worried about that. I just use the Wal-mart brand (less than $2.00) I've been wearing contacts for yeeaarrs and I can tell ya-- if you get that other stuff in your eye-- oh boy does it BURN!!!!!

Christina would have much better tips. If so, I would like to know them too! Hope the eye is better! ~~~ Tracy
