My ancestors for sure...all farmgirls through and through. My grandmas and great grandmas are all women to be proud of.

My nanny on my daddy's side, she was an amazing woman. She worked her farm with her husband raised 4 children, ran her home and made clothes without a pattern. Could look at any dress and make it just like that! I wish I could sew like her. She moved her family with her husband to the city when farming was not looking good in their area and worked in the fabric dept. at TG & Y she retired from there and when my grandfather passed away she took on his job at the church as the custodian. She was amazing! My other grandmother on my momma's side died when she was just 41 but was just as amazing raising 5 children while my grandfather was a truck driver. They loved each other so much, she had so much spunk, drive and ambition. She loved being a mother but was definatly a city girl. Worked from the time she was 16 as a waitress and sadly we lost her so young. When I get to heaven I want to look them both up and tell them how much they impacted my life.

My Nanna and her Mama and her Mama...the were all hard working farmers and even have some Mohawk Indian mixed in there. They wore the pants in the family and were straight shooters. I heard when my Nanna would get together with her 2 sisters, a little heck raisin' went on!!! My one Aunt had a T-bird convertable and like to drive it through the corn fields at high speeds. They all never like wearing shoes, must be where I get it from!! HA!!! Nanna was married to my Papa, possibly the sweetest gentle giant I had ever met. He was 6'5" and strong as a bull but gentle as a butterfly. He was a simple man with not much education but love for his family and he was quite the carpenter. He hated to see anything go to waste and liked to go junking at the local dump. He rode his bicycle everyday and smoked his pipe (which I now have). He wore his slippers everywhere he went (unless he got caught by my Nanna : )
They were a sweet couple without much material things in life but lots of love. I model my own marriage after them.

Well I would have to say Jesus Christ first and foremost, but then my to grandmothers run a close second. Neither of my grandmothers have ever complained and they have always put others first. Karen

My mother and my mother in law! Both are very stong, smart women who struggle every day to keep their family and their faith strong. Hopefully I can be half the woman they are~that is, if I ever grow up!!!

my NANNIE .. who is my Aunt on my daddy's side . her name was Anna Lee (she was mostly called ANNIE .. but when the nieces and nephews came along ... it became NANNIE.) my nannie never married .. she chose, instead, to lovingly raise my brother, my sister and me with all the love in her heart and soul. what an amazing woman .. she taught me what 'true love' is all about.
