Sometimes, I really love ebay. While sitting here at my desk at work, I just bought these 10 Little Colonel Books for $18.03 plus shipping(7.00).This is a simple thing and it makes me very happy! I can take this set to the farm and keep it in the trailer.

My good set can stay stored and I can take these outside and read under a tree or on my porch with a glass of tea.

Yes, Kathie. They have nice illustrations. They were written by a woman who lived in Louisville(1900-1930) and are based on actual people who lived here. I read them when I was a child - every summer-swinging on our porch swing. They really take me back. Happy memories. :)

How great, Janice!!! Seems we both had a lucky day! Those are surely wonderful...where was the seller from?

The seller was from Chicago, Jonni. And there was only one other bid. :D They usually sell for between 10 and 20 apiece from a book dealer around here, depending upon what edition they are.

I'm always fascinated by where things turn up, you know? Especially regional items. What a great deal, for sure!!!

Janice,
I have never heard of that series. Where have I been? To look them up do I look under 'LITTLE COLONEL"? Looks like you got a really good buy. All for what just one might have cost.

Good deal! I don't usually shop ebay, but maybe I should try it more often. I need some of the Little Colonel books.

Kathie - You need the set they put out in the 1940's, I think. The bindings are all the prettiest pink stripe.

Great books! I have to admit, I have a lot of fun shopping around on Ebay. I have a breadbaker going right this minute that I got on Ebay for 6.99 plus shipping! I use it all the time now. And there are good aprons for sale too.....

But the books look like a great find!
