HEAR HIM CALLING
The sheep that are My own hear and are listening to My voice, and I know them and they follow Me" (John 10:27, AMP).

It is God's desire that His children have an open line of communication with Him. Just as our earthly parents find pleasure when we pick up the telephone and call home, our Heavenly Father delights in our communicating with Him.

Don't let the devil tell you that you are not "special" enough to hear from God. We must be able to hear His voice to know His will for our lives.

Just as Jesus listened for His Father's voice, so we need to be sensitive to His voice. Then, we can be led of the Spirit in our own lives and also minister to others.

You can hear God's voice through the pages of His Word. You can hear Him through that still small voice within. He can communicate to you through a dream or vision. At times, He will use another person as His vessel through which He will speak.

God wants to speak to you. Take the time right now to set aside all of today's anxieties, then wait on Him to give you a thought or a word from the Bible that will have a specific meaning to you. What an encouragement it will be to know that you can hear His voice.

Tell me how you hear him call you.

I don't have trouble hearing him call, I have trouble stopping and listening. I let the busyness of today's world and all the "things" we have to do in a day take me from stopping and listening to him, my father. Listen to him tell me that I am his sheep that he cares for me and that he knows what is best.

Not sure if you all still want to do this but this touched me today. I am starting a study in Sept. that is a better question and answers. Let me know if you all are no longer interested and I will stop posting. hugs

HARD PLACES
One day, a friend came to me, crying desperately, saying that her present situation was more than she could endure. She had been put in a hard place and wanted an immediate way of escape.

Are you in a hard place today? Are you asking yourself, as my friend did, what possible glory God could derive from such a devastating experience? Le me encourage you with the answer I gave my friend. I know it was a word from the Lord because it set her free and gave her the peace she was lacking. I encourage you to use these words as a key to healing in your own hard place.

I told my friend, "Just because it's a hard place, don't be so sure that God didn't allow you there for a purpose. You cannot see God's whole plan now, but be sure that He has a beautiful purpose to unfold. You may not know what He is preparing you for, but you dare not miss it.

Think about how dark a mine is – as dark as the hard place you are now in—yet, it has the capacity to produce the most brilliant of gems. Just like the mining process, our hardest trials can produce our dearest treasures

"But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in it's wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall." Malachi 4:2

Thanks for posting that. I've been struggling with something lately.

I now need to look at it as something the Lord wants me to experience for a reason. It's in His plan.

Thanks again. I do hope that you'll continue, if you have the time.

Sorry AngiKay, i've been out in lala land. I enjoy your posts very much. keep them coming.

I have always been the kind of person that thinks they can fix any problem life throws their way. At a young age I had to buckle down and go to work, provide things I needed for school and whatnot. But a few years ago, I came to realize I don't have to pack the world on my shoulders. I was never meant to do that. I learned to give my troubles to the Lord. His shoulders are much stronger than mine. If you listen real close and let Him, the Lord will lead you down the road He wants you to be on. I still get a lil stubborn from time to time, but I remember I'm not alone.

Hi ladies,

I have not been visiting this forum as I used to...main reason is that I got into reading blogs in the evenings when I used to go to this forum. The blogs are fun for me because there are some very talented people out there who post about the things they make. Loving to create-this has been a great way to see their wares and appreciate them.
I tell you this because I did not know about this study. If I can remember to check in I would like to join you.

For Julia...please keep coming back! This is one way to learn about Christianity-by seeing how God does love care about each one of us in our everyday lives. Our church is right in the middle of a study about Christianity and how it differs from other religions. Very interesting. I go to Real Life Ministries in Post Falls. We have five services every weekend...the fastest growing church in the nation (or it was at one point). Our pastor is very real and pulls no punches...he studied his way to Christianity, had been an atheist. www.reallifeministries.com to see when we meet. Since you are not too far from us, come for a visit if you like. We have great programs for kids as well. They have an automated child check in system for safety.

So Julia-I am not sure if you remember me or not, but my booth was right next to yours at MaryJanes Farm Fair a few years back. I was on the side near MJ's booth (where they sold her magazines and some wares). There was not time for me to visit during that show...I was busy unpacking boxes through the whole show...which means I sold well, so that is good. But I did not really get to know many of the other vendors, as there was not time for visiting. Remember how hot it was?

Hi, girls, I don't know why I never checked out the reading room, I never stopped to look into it for some weird reason. The first thing I read was this and that last devotion about persistant friendship.

It got me hard.

I have a friend ..or did ..like that .. we were very close friends as teenagers.. then we grew up..she got married..had kids..I got married... it's a long story, but basically, I guess because she has kids and a husband..she has no time for me ..she did move apart but we always kept in touch ..I started doing all the work it seemed...
so I got frustrated and told her my feelings.. in a nutshell ... it hurt really bad... when I found out she went basically right by my place on the way to Galveston ... couldn't stop by and let me meet her new daughter I never got a chance to meet? No, I guess not ... Well, I finally told her I couldn't deal with that... but then I finally thought about it..I thought I would react more in a "Christian" way .. and I told her congrats on her NEW daughter (she had another) and basically I'm here if she needs me..... I hadn't heard anything else....I don't know if I should pursue it anymore. I probably won't. It's heart-breaking for me. I guess I'll let it go... there is alot more to the story but that is it in a nutshell .. just gets me... 12 + years of friendship just swept away... dreams of our daughters knowing one another and being best friends too...it hurts, you know?

Sorry for the "sort of interruption"..I'd like to be a part of this bible study!!!

((and yes, I know I'm supposed to be gone, but I got on and wandered somewhere like here instead of "Across the fence"!! LOL!!))

Please count me in for the September Bible Study. I need to be encouraged and shown that I'm not the only one out here struggling sometimes with my faith. Thank you. Susan

Brooke and Susan, Yes sit and stay a while. Brooke I understand and you can only do what you feel in your heart. It hurts when we try so hard only to be shut down. Keep Trying- another friend is out there who needs you! You are not alone. And Susan neither are you- you are not alone. The new study with kay arthur I am excited about. I will hold you both up in prayers. hugs
