was going to go to the BUTTERFLY house here in toledo with a bunch of the family kids .. luckily we needed two cars .. because i was following 'grandma emma' (who's car was filled with kids) .. she was going to take them all to the zoo afterwards ... we had just gone .. and i knew it would be too long a day for little sofia .. so she andi followed. we didn't get three miles from home and i heard a a strange sound ... turned around .. and she was throwing up BIG TIME! i've never seen her throw up .. it alarmed me .. she threw up immediately again .. and wa gagging on it ... lordy! i whipped my car out of traffic and ran to the back seat .. poor little thing was still up-chucking! i pulled her dress off of her .. wrapped her in a blanket and held her close to me.

emma saw me pull off and turned around ... we called frankie .. he brought her wet cloths and towels and clean clothes. but we decided to just leave my car there (with all the 'charm' still in it .. to sit in the hot toledo sun!) i held her in my arms as he drove us home (still wrapped in her blankie) .. she had one more little gift to give .. i caught as much as i could in my hand! i know .. i know .. too vivid a picture! but i have always hated the idea of throwing up! i never ever threw up until i was in my 20's .. and THANK GOD have only thrown up a very few times in my life .. AND .. that is how my own mom DIED .. she threw up and choked to death on it ... soooooooooo .. needless to say .. you can see where my story is coming from on this 'eventful' event for me yesterday. after we got home .. we cleaned her up and i just held her in my arms for the next couple hours while she slept.

(we never did figure out what made her sick .. she might have picked up a bottle of milk that had 'turned' .. or .. it might have been a few green grapes she ate on top of milk .. i thought they were rather sour tasting!) .. but she is bright eyed and busy tailed this morning .. and she just wandered into mybedroom .. all smiles .. so sheandi are going for an early morning walk. have a grande day gurlfrenz. xo

Frannie - what a relief that she is better today and it was not the start of flu. Have you cleaned out the car yet? Sorry that happened to you both. Been there. Not fun.

Oh, Frannie. What a day. Glad Sophia is doing better! I remember taking my kids to see Jim's mom and Ainslie said "Mom, I don't feel good." and threw up Spaghettios all over the van. We didn't make it to Grandma's.
Hope your car is ok. After you clean it out, burn some candles in it with the windows closed. (And not running.) That's how I got the smell of soured scalloped potatoes out of my car. Took a couple of days, but it finally did work.

WOW THAT WAS A LOT OF DETAIL!! Glad she is feeling better. I always got car sick when I was little. So we didn't go anyplace without towels, water and a new outfit, and a pail.

Glad she is feeling better. It is always so hard on us when our little one's are sick. My boys are 13 and 14 and it still breaks my heart when they get sick and I always wish it were me instead of them.
Take care,
Marcy

Frannie, I deal with the up chucking quite often from a 4 year old who gets car sick often, before him his 10 year old brother was the culprit. On a trip to CA from Oregon I gave him a garbage can and ziplocks with instructions. He tossed his cookies a dozen times in that trip! :-(
But it was the worst when we all get a stomach bug a year and a half ago. I stayed well enough to take care of everyone. I had kid after kid in my bed sick and tossing it up. But when it is a 1 year old and a 3 year old- with high fevers it breaks your heart. WHen everyone else was on the mend I got it bad.. :-)
Glad she is feeling better and she had you to snuggle her.

Blessings, Debra

gosh .. all sweet wishes for my little one ... thanks gurlfrenz .. she is all better today and yes, i, too, am glad it isn't the 'flu' .. wednesday said the last time a 24-hour virus hit their house .. everyone got it .. each a day after the other (which is guess is better than all having it at the same time!) Sofia didn't know what was happening and can only do three-word sentences now .. and i don't think she even knows the word 'sick' yet. so she couldn't tell me she even had a sick tummy!

the car place was closed yesterday by the time i had a few moments to spare .. i left my car doors open all night long ... am on my way over there for a GRANDE cleaning .. in and out .. they do a FANTASTIC job .. i usually take my car there for a cleaning overhaul when i am up here!

what cha'll up to today? xo

lucas is going swimming with his grandma emma and cousins .. sofia, iszabel and mommy wednesday are sleeping like babies .. i'm organizing kitchen cupboards!

it will be 'interesting' getting back to my 'kentucky life'! xo

i sure feel for your miz debra with little ones who get sick in cars (i have a few grown girlfriends who swear they have to sit in the FRONT seat! Ha .. i tell them .. o.k. .. but only ONE of you can fit in the front seat .. and YOU will probably get'tossed upon' by your friend in the back seat! THAT usually seems to cure them!!

I have to always bring a change of clothes- if I don't I will surely be stopping at walmart for a new outfit, windex and paper towels. :-) And so far we can't figure it out- sometimes he is fine, sometimes not. And can't tell if it is food on the tummy, no food on the tummy.. oh well, best just to be prepared.

Blessings, Debra
