I thought this was so cool:
I work at a car dealership as a receptionist, and it's kind of just an 'okay' job, we all show up, do what's necessary to make it through the day, then rush out of here at night. Well, this afternoon, one of our customers did us a RAOK.
We'd had her car in for a complicated service, and she had ended up leaving it with us for nearly an entire month. Instead of coming to pick it up and acting like it had been a huge inconvenience or such, she came in with a smile on her face...
And brought two HUGE tubs full of snacks, sodas, and candy for us to share. It kind of blew us all away, since it had to have cost her quite a bit, and to bring it to the people who worked on her car of all things??
But I noticed it lightened the mood around here immediately, and within a half hour, I noticed that someone else had caught the RAOK spirit...I think it's contagious, people!!!
Our service writer started musing over the idea of sending a nice thank you card to our customers after their car was done being serviced. We already do follow up to make sure they're content and don't have any other issues, but this would go beyond that, and have the exclusive purpose of thanking them for letting us serve them...
Whether or not anything comes of it, I was really kind of awestruck at how fast the RAOK spirit could spread...if we all did something, and it inspired the next person to do something, and the next...well, it could be pretty amazing.

Hi Jodi, I think you are right. I have always found RAOKs to be contagious! :) How sweet of that woman to brighten your day! Thanks for sharing with us! hugs jessie

Children seldom misquote you. In fact, they usually repeat word for word what you shouldn't have said.

I enjoy the ROAK list. I am running out the door with mailart, swaps and barter. I love doing things for others.
