Miss Wilma,
I popped mine in the mail this morning.
Gabby is such an inspiration, she sounds like a wonderful person to know.

I had a thought regarding her sending a thank you note.
I don't know about the other ladies who did this, but please don't worry about sending one to me.
Tell her to save herself the cost of the stamp and the time she would have to take to do it.
Both of time and money are precious.
We would be defeating the purpose of this RAOK if she spent what little time and money she had sending a thank you note.
In this case, let good sense prevail, over good manners. Which we all know she is a farmgirl too, so she has good manners anyways.

Miss Wilma, you are such a dear sweet friend, I am honored to know you.

Thanks again. I don't know who got more out of this me or Gabby.
It has made my day!!!!

Kate, I agree about the thank you letters. Gabby no doubt has a ton of things to do - even if all the family health issues are resolved she will have a huge backlog of everyday life to catch up. So when I sent mine I just signed my first name and what state I'm from, a bit of money and kind wishes, but no return address. I thought that way she'd know that she doesn't need to spend any time writing back.

Wilma, I sent a little note out to her today as well.

I agree completely with Kate about thank-you notes ... totally unecessary in this instance. My two cents!

I totally agree with the gals' comments above, Miss Wilma. I was thinking the same thing before, but didn't know if I should say anything. Yes, it could become another burden for her to feel like she has to write back to us. We don't want that.

Agreed...no note. Just let us know she's doing alright, Miss Wilma.

I totally agree with all above and there is no need for her to send thank yous. Just keep us informed of how she's doing and if there is anything else we might be able to do to help out.
You are both "top-notch" women in my book and it is an honor to know you! You gals raise the standard!

I don't need a thank you note either. In fact, I did not put my address on the envelope I sent. So tell Gabby to just concentrate on taking care of herself and her family.

Miss Wilma

Please tell her sending a note is not necessary. It would be great, if, when you have time, you could just let me know the card and money made it there. I didn't even put my last name because I didn't want her to feel obligated to reply.

I have just talked to Gabby, said Dooly cant take his medicine this morning, other than that he is just laying there, she had heard from Kathy okla Nancy Jo and the mail hasnt run yet today, you know girls the gifts you sent her made her sound like it made her so happy, and that is why we do things to bring happiness to others/ You know Gabby has always been the doer and has never really had anyone to give her gifts so I am just so happy that she has been made happy

Let's keep that happiness "rollin in"...it is SO fun to make people happy! And most times it doesn't take that much if we think about it....it's the little things....I think we just all want to "lighten her load" a bit so she has the time and energy and heart to be happy. Blessings to her and her family and any of the rest of you going through troubling times.

I went over this morning he was just laying there asleep, She had the two little grandchildren that the ex daughter inlaw was supposed to pick up early and had a cow down with mastitis and couldnt even go see about it, said she had been up with him coughing untill 4 oclock this morning, She had called the nurse but there is just nothing can be done except morphine. It sure is a sad thing

Thanks for keeping us updated Miss Wilma....if my eyes weren't so bad I'd get in my truck and come down there and give her a hand (not that I know what to do..I've never REALLY farmed just had some horses and big gardens) but I'm always willing to learn. My eyes cross when they get tired and first thing in the morning when I get up....you should see me bouncing off the walls trying to get to the coffeemaker in the morning! LOL!

I just got my card off in the mail yesterday, so it will probably straggle in late! I'm glad she is happy about the whole thing. I was a little worried that she would be embarrassed by getting money from strangers. I hemmed and hawed about putting my name and address on the envelope. I finally decided to do it, because I would hate to have the card go astray and no way for the po to resolve it. But I wasn't expecting a thank you note, of course. Just please let us know how she's doing, Miss Wilma.

I didn't get mine off until Saturday morning. No note for me, either. Just tell her we're thinking of her.

Ditto on the "no thank you note necessary". Just hope to know if card arrived safely - maybe you could let us know Wilma. I'm always nervous about sending cash.

Yesterday when I was over there she had had five more come in She was under so much stress. She had been up all night so I didnt get all the info but will run over late this afternoon and see how things are. No she is not embarrassed she is just so surprised, I am thinking one way or another when I have the orchard sale she can come by for a min. now she may be barefoot with cow poop between her toes, she has never cared for dress she just works harder than most men. There are no words of enough thank you so for all I can get addresses I am sending some little personal something of mine to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so kind to her, So please send me your address Please
