I was re-reading the replies to the "napkin" forum and just wanted to mention that I use my old towels as rags also. When they get worn, I use them to clean my hardwood floors (just cut them to size, dampen them and ring them out) - I use them instead of a mop. They make great dustrags, or for washing windows, as by the time they're ready to use as rags, they aren't leaving any lint anywhere. I re-wash them with soap & bleach, and use them until they're ready for paint rags. A store here had bath towels on sale this week for $2 each, so I bought a few, and will recycle my oldest towels again.
