It was $3.95 at the local Qt here in GA. While we were coming home from Florida yesterday, we stopped in Valdosta and found the cheapest gas to be $4.02. Well, when my daughter started the pump it read $4.06. Apparently the lesser price was for cash only. Are you kidding me? I had her stop it at 3 gallons and we drove to Tifton, where we found it for $3.99 at a Chevron station that still uses the older pumps- put the hose in the tank, flip the lever down and then walk into the building to pay. The look on my son's face when he saw them was priceless.

Well our little town shot up to $4.15 for the cheap gas...I was in complete shock. I've now put all of our errands down to just one day to 2 days a week. It was $3.89 when I filled up on Saturday. One of the stations in our small town was still at $3.94 and people were filling it up, even when I passed by late last night, whereas everyone else was already shot up.

What gets me is that the news said that the price of oil went down several dollars. I guess this week is a busy vacation week with the long weekend we just have.

Even with a car that gets 35 miles a gallon, this price hurts us. One of our friends went to a car dealership needing a diesel truck (why the heck they want one now I dunno)...it was sticker priced at $52,000 and they told him when he was looking at it, that it was on sale for $38, 000. He got them to come down to $30, 000.

Two of the car dealerships back in my hometown that have been there for about 20 years and are pretty reputable dealers have closed up. These were HUGE lots too...nothing was selling.

We just shot up to 4.16 here in Somerset KY.
My husband drives an hour to work. Lucky he found a guy he works with that lives near us they started sharing the ride today. I live next to the gal I work with and we will start too.

Our gas is $3.95. I've seen it higher at some stations. I live about 8 miles from Baltimore, Maryland.

Jonni--Ours was $3.99 on Monday before it jumped to $4.15. Your's took a much larger jump. All I can say is WHY? WHY? WHY?

Ada, I think they just wake up in the morning and spin a wheel, like at church festivals. There really is no rhyme or reason...and to that end, I don't understand how one station (like the BP at the top of my street) decides it's going to be $4.29 when everyone else is at $4.05...what would be the smart business sense in that?

It's around 4.23 here in Louisville. It's under four dollars as soon as I leave Jefferson County. Don't know why.

It's $4.06 here in Montana. Doesn't it make you yearn for the days when gas was only about $1.25? LOL

$3.79 gal. at 7 Eleven here in town and $3.83 gal. at the local station, (but that's the 100% gas - no additives) Sounds like we are still lower then most of you.

So Cal - $4.41 at Costco on Saturday. $4.55 in town. Who knows what it is today

Put a little more than 3/4 tank - $111

I usually try not to let it get below 1/2 tank, but had no plans to be near Costco the previous week. My loss.

I called the propane (my heating gas company) yesterday to see when I could lock in the price for the coming season. She said I was in line for the summer fill-up at $2.89/gal. I could then lock it in at $3.02/gal for the winter. That is about the same as last year. I was SHOCKED that it hadn't gone up at least $.50/gal.
