Today Utahfarmgirl (Patricia) and I met and had lunch and traded goodies! It was so fun. I got to meet her husband Stu and daughter Christina too, and they were all just delightful...I probably talked their ears off! It was pouring rain but we got some pictures. I picked the one that was best although I have to say that each of us had closed eyes in one or the other..oh well!!So at least in this one we are "awake!!" I just had the best time!!!
Also please notice the picture of my new cow...yep..I found one today and put a deposit on her. She will come home in about 2 weeks (we have a shelter to build) she is 2 years old and due to calf in a couple months and her name is MONA!!!!
THIS was a great day!!

Great to hear you enjoyed your day Jenny. I look forward to meeting some MJ girls oneday too. All the best with Mona, having just been kicked in the stomach and thrown across the pit by a young heifer yesterday, I cant say cows impress me at the moment..Mona does look a cutie though.

if I can, at least for awhile..I plan to get a used milking machine though..this carpal tunnel isn't going to let me hand milk for long I bet. I plan to start alot of petting and brushing and touching right away when she gets here so she gets used to me and being touched.

If she has been milked before, you wont have any worries.. It is normaly the first time milkers, who kick and jump around when they havent been in a milking shed before, as it is all new to them and they freak out. Bit like breaking in a horse. Hope all goes well for you Jen.

lol, you may have a nice one, fingers crossed. Otherwise just tie her back leg to a post. You dont want a kick or to have your milk bucket kicked over either.

Looks like you and Patricia are having a good time in the pics! Btw, love your sweater Aunt Jenny, did you knit it yourself? It's so cute!

Mona looks like a sweet cow, sure hope she'll be nice to you when milking time comes!

Oh, and have to tell ya, the kids with their fair ribbons are just adorable! Yep, had to have a peak at 'em and those wonderful aprons! LOL

Thanks for sharing! ;)
