Well I know it's not really summer yet, but don't tell my weather man that because it's HOT HOT HOT. All week it's been in the 90's and low 100's.Last year my girlfriend and I started a tradition of welcoming in the summer. It's a time to welcome fresh garden food, hot and dirty little boys (we both have sons) and the challenge to keep moving when the heat wants to slow us down. Last year we got together for a barbeque and swim. This year with the young boys a bit older, we're planning a pancake supper, followed by hours of swimming then crashing out in our tents. She's got 10 acres and we'll shack up on the "front five" somewhere near the pool. I'm excited to welcome in summer with my best friend and our sons, and to give our hubbies some much needed quiet time! Check my blog sometime next week for pictures of how it all went down. www.fionaswampington.blogspot.com

You know Paige, I do think there is a different "vibe" for the summer. I was so blessed gorwing up... that I really did have those great summer memories, of swinging froma rope into the lake, and playing music out of the back end of someones pickup.. cut off and friends and fun.....Even the music sounds different some how... I am more then ready to welcome in summer......
