I have been on farmgirl connection for about a week but I figured I would take a moment to officially introduce myself. I am from a very small town in Arizona. I am originally from Ohio and I have to say I really miss grass. I also miss growing up with a big garden and an apple orchard . I have 3 kids, Isaiah is 6, Hannah is 4 and Olivia is 3. In my non-existent spare time I love to bake from scratch and I also paint, sew, do tatting, knit etc. I have already made laundry soap and I am going to have to figure out how to clean faster so I might have a little more time on Farmgirl Connection. I really love you guys!!!!

Hello Monica,
You will get some tips for quicker cleaning on this site--just ask.
I was in Arizona on April 3--at least one of my feet was. Our local cattlemen's group visited New Mexico. We came to the Four Corners Monument and I stood with one foot in Arizona and the other foot in New Mexico. Beautiful area, but I am like you--I would miss the green grass. We visited the Navajo Indian Reservation in northwestern NM, and they irrigate thousands of acres to grow crops. There was lots of green there.
Hope you enjoy all your new friends here.

Welcome Monica! I haven't been here long myself. Everyone here is great. Ok I am curious, I have to know where Oatman, Arizona is. We are seriously considering moving to Arizona or New Mexico one of these days. I thought I had scoured the map and found every little town there was.

Maryjane, thank you for the info.!!! I have never heard of it, but I will absolutely check it out because it seems as though I am always cleaning. I paint and sew and I am also trying to get stuff listed on Etsy and it seems as though I start in the morning determined to quickly clean up and then make clothes for my girls or list something and then the next thing I know it's dinner time and I am still cleaning!!!! I am going to bookmark FlyLady.com. I love your blog. The pictures are beautiful and I bookmarked it.

Maryjane, thank you so much!!!!! I have already signed up with flylady and I really love it. It is frustrating sometimes to feel like all I do is clean in circles, especially in my kitchen!!! I have to laugh though because the first step at flylady is to shine the sink so I guess that means I will have to wash the dishes first!! Oh well!!!!
Can someone tell me how to add the little faces on to my messages??

Hi Monica!

Good for you! I remember the first time I went to bed with my "sink shining"!!! I have kept it up ever since!

The little faces are to the left when you are writing a post. Just click on the face you want, in the place you want it and it will appear first in letters, after you post it the face appears like magic!

Have a great day! xo

Maryjane, thanks for the info. I usually do a quick reply and the faces are not on there but as you can see I found them.
I have to say that my sink was nice and shiny when I went to bed!!
I must confess though that I was quite miffed with my husband in the morning thoughbecause he had dumped out the last of his hot tea in the sink and it left a bit of stain on my shiny sink!!! He was already off to work when I got up, so I will have to talk to him when he gets home
Well I have gotten dressed and now I am off to clean up my kitchen in 30 minutes!!!!
I may actually get to sew today!!! Thanks a bunch!!!

Monica,
My name is Kate....and I'm new too.
Just moved back to Texas after 25 years in Arizona. Must say, I really miss my mountains. Been to Oatman several times.....and fed the burro's about a ton of carrots. I love it there, and met some of the nicest people ever.
Hoping to chat with you sometime.....reminisce about all the beautiul places in Arizona.

Monica,
Here's something you might want to try. I use Turtle Wax in my sinks. Just clean and dry the sink.....and apply the turtle wax just like you would on your car. Let it dry and buff it out. It will repel stains for quite a while. I use it about once a month. Most liquids just bead up and run down the drain. Try it and let me know what you think.

Kate, this is so cool that someone actually knows where Oatman is!!! And yes there are plenty of burros to feed, in fact my kids were feeding them carrots in my front yard this morning!! It is nice here and there are a lot of nice people, but I have to confess being from Ohio, I still really miss grass!!! I have some Turtle Wax so I will have to try that tonight. I usually use baking soda to clean it. I will let you know how it works!

Thanks,Monica

Molly, it's nice to know I have company in the heat, but at least it has not been too hot so far this summer!!! I remember when we first moved to Arizona in 2002 that it was still so very hot in October and I was almost in tears wondering if it ever cooled down!!

Hi Monica, I noticed you are from Oatman, Arizona. I love Oatman! I have visited your small cute little town a couple of times. I especially like all the donkeys walking around the streets and the cute cowboy show that the locals put on, and oh, the old diner on the main street (I think the only street) it has great food! Well, welcome, you will find all the ladies are so friendly and very helpful!
